GT #2: Raptors @ Bullets 7 PM (NBATV/NBCSW/1500 AM) [10/20/18]

YOUR Washington Bullets have started the season 0-1 with Markieff Morris' non-boxout of Kelly Olynyk in the season opener which gave the Miami HEAT the victory.

Saturday, the Bullets welcome the team that kicked them out of the playoffs in the Toronto Raptors. The Raptors will be coming off a back-to-back after playing the Celtics in what will probably be an Eastern Conference Finals showdown.

The Raptors swapped Demar DeRozan and Jakob Poetl for Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green (2 guys who are champions and one a Finals MVP) about 3 months ago. Toronto looks to have the ability to play defense against anyone in the NBA with their depth and top end defensive talent.

Can the Bullets knockoff the team that has IMO the best player in the conference on a 2nd night of a back to back early in the season? Will Dwight Howard make his Bullets debut? Will the Bullets rebound the ball? Will Otto Porter shoot more than 7 times in a game if he's healthy enough to run on a bad ankle?

Oh, has Howard had enough "Practice" now. God forbid we throw the 14 year, 3rd leading rebounder in the NBA into an unfamiliar situation. Perish the thought.

raptors played an early playoff intensity type game last night vs. boston. both kyle + kawhi played alot of mins the first two games and this is the 3rd game in 4 nights to start the season (nuts). so from a wizards pov, raptors are ripe for the picking and imho, if the wizards don't win tonight, it is not a good sign.

Raptors probably start big with Lowry-Green-Anunoby-Ibaka-Valanciunas and VanVleet-Powell-Miles-Siakam-Monroe off the bench. Hopefully Porter is available for the home team and Brooks is smarter with his rotations. I'd like Porter to play more with the bench unit because Oubre is so dumb and tries too much. Otto should get more touches that way and Oubre could stick to his role if he played with Wall/Beal.

I don't think they start big like that. Maybe both OG and Siakam start would be as big as they get, but Valanciunas and Ibaka are purely Cs to the Raptors at this point unless something particularly unusual came up.

Yeah, I guess it's more likely Anunoby replaces Leonard in the starting 5 and that's it. I don't think they give minutes to someone like Malachi Richardson (Delon Wright is hurt btw) so maybe they just roll with 9 man rotation. Miles has played only 10 and 12 minutes this season so he's going to go crazy from 3 tonight (I expect Ernie to sign him to a contract with PO in the future

This is another loss. Just going to watch another game on league pass (free preview) week. Without Howard how much will they get outrebounded by this game.
