We're getting pretty close to "must win" territory here.

The Grizzlies are 3-2 overall, 2-0 at home. It seems like they can start Conley and Gasol and add a few guys from the local YMCA and still manage 43 wins. Currently, they start Kyle Anderson, Garrett Temple and the rookie Jaren Jackson Jr. They're probably not as good as their record. They beat Atlanta and Phoenix which isn't saying much. They did have a nice win in Utah, but they also lost in Sacramento.

Of course, the Wizards aren't ones to talk. They're 1-5 featuring a loss at home to Miami and a loss in Sacramento. They're playing without Howard and it looks like Morris is out too.

TBH, I'm feeling like the Wizards will win tonight. I'm sure they heard about the Lowe/Woj podcast and they're pretty embarrassed about it. I predict maximum effort tonight and a much better overall performance. They can still lose if the 3-point shots don't fall, but if they can shoot 33% or better from behind the arc, I think it's a W.

It won't mean much though. They'll still stink it up the next game with lackluster play and inattention to detail. A leopard doesn't change his spots.

If they win tonight, then it was a 2-3 road trip out West against 5 teams including Portland, GS & the Clippers. It would be fair to call that kind of trip pretty tough scheduling this early in the season. 2-3 isn't so bad. Go on a little run at home, & the season starts to look ok.

If they lose tonight... that's another matter. We could face an early implosion.

As nate says, it really does start to feel like a "must-win" game. Wow. In October!

Gasol always kills us. I still remember all those 3's he rained on us some time ago.

Still, here's hoping for a win. Go Wizards.

not a bad start. They are playing within themselves so far, with the possible exception of Rivers. This could be a win. Need some more D and team rebounds. I see 4 guys going after the rebound, and that is very much needed.

It's funny when people beg for Otto to play the 4 and he gives up about 4 offensive rebounds, they still wonder why. Maybe when Dwight starts playing but he's so damn weak.

For the love of God, can we please get Rivers out of the game?

He was questionable to play with an illness so I'd give him the benefit of the doubt. He's also passing a lot so you know he has to be sick. :D

If there was one reason to fire Brooks, it's his love of Austin Rivers. Maybe he loves him because he thinks he's his dad and he played against Doc.
