I just assumed they were losing the game when they not only blew the lead but fell behind by 6 points with a few minutes left - the Michigan State crowd was so loud, and I turned the game off in frustration. Once again, they just can't get scoring out of anyone but Cowen and Smith. Ayala and Wiggins continue to be unproductive and inefficient - even though they appear to be capable. Morsell - at least you know he's going to be productive in other ways, but sometimes he scores nothing.

Both have an excellent shot at winning the regular season Big Ten conference, but it's time they won a conference tournament - particularly the men.

MD gets 6-18 Northwestern tonight - at Maryland. This game can't be close. Right?

The men's Terps have a problem with shooting. They're just not consistent. They're generally pretty good defensively. The winning streak has coincided the Anthony Cowan turning the ball over much less and with Sticks being much more assertive on the glass and with cutting to the basket and presenting himself to receive the basketball. Teams are generally leaving him open and he's hitting threes.

I like that the Terps have managed a 21-4 record; but I expect they're going to lose at least two or three of their last six games. They're just not consistent offensively.
Bye bye Beal.

Maryland needs to finish this game strong. Up 8 points ...

Lackluster.

Overrated...but, at least the 22-4 record looks good.

Jalen Smith is not overrated.

He might end up becoming Maryland's best player since Len Bias.

I think he leaves for the draft. He’s really improved this year.

Notice the dramatic improvement came after the Mitchell twins left - with Smith then becoming a full-time center. That seems to indicate that he's more effective as a center. So, how does he project as an NBA center? Or do you still project him as a forward in the NBA - where he wasn't great at in college? Trying to think how a scout would look at it - His size/length is a bit below average for a center, and he hasn't shown he has great skill level and quickness to excel at forward. I think the way the NBA is going, he's going to be looked at more as a center than a forward. But I could be wrong.
