Little Fatts and big Qudus... ok. Now, we actually have a starting center and a starting PG, and players like Scott and Ayala can play their natural positions. Fatts game is pressure defense, so the Terps better run a lot more than they have under Turgeon. Fatts really needs to improve his shot selection - but a fun player. Qudus is good - typical power playing Turgeon big with good ability. Not a jump shooter. Need a guy like him in the Big 10 - where everyone seems to hav3e a big center.

They’re still not gonna win it all because Brenda can’t coach to the championship.

(They should be overwhelming preseason number one)

If the draft was 4 rounds, he probably wouldn't get drafted, and for him to really transfer at this point seems pretty lame, tbh - not understanding how this will help him in any way - ending a good 3 years with a sour taste. Still - good luck to him.

Remember when I criticized Brenda Frese in the past? She’s got to become a better tactician or they’re going to keep losing the games that they should win in the tournament.

Agree to a point except that there is no place for him next season, especially if Wiggins returns. Now he's a kid that I think will test the waters and could leave. He probably needs a more consistent season, though seniors almost never get drafted in the first round unless he becomes an All-American ala Garza (who might not get drafted). Maybe Turge told Morsell that they were moving on.

SG Ayala
SF Wiggins or Hart

I totally disagree.

Darryl Morsell got quite a bit of favorable media attention and a lot of coaches like him. I think he should go to another school like Hawaii where he can put a huge offensive numbers.

Nick Faust play for three seasons at Maryland before he transfer to Long Beach State College. He had a fantastic final season. The same could happen with DM.

Darryl is probably going to end up coaching.

I think it is also wise for him to play for another coach to have a broader perspective on how to run a team. It could benefit Darrell Morsell to play for a better coach than Mark Turgeon.

Minutes?

Darryl Morsell won’t have as many available minutes and his role figures to be diminished next season if he returned. He’s done all he can under Turgeon.

I think getting a second chance at being recruited is terrific! DM becoming a leader at another school makes a lot of sense to me. It would be CRAZY if he went to Coppin State or Richmond and became a 20ppg scorer on an NCAA team. That would get him drafted for sure.

He'd have no more chance to get drafted as Faust did, and Faust didn't get drafted despite being a very talented player. Earning his minutes at MD and improving his shooting and all-around game at MD would give him his best chance to get drafted. Yeah, MD got a couple of solid transfers, but they're not exactly world-beaters. One is a 5'8 guard who shot 33% from the field last season. The other is a center - who's no threat to Morsell's pt. There was no reason Morsell couldn't win competition for PT at MD next season. At worst, he'd probably get 25 minutes a game - he's a versatile player. And if he can't win PT at MD, he certainly can't in the NBA. Anyway, good luck to him.

Why do you think he’s leaving, Ruz?

I’m going to tell you what I think.

Morsell might be a good secondary ball handler. DeShawn Stevenson was a prototype of what Morsell can be at the next level, a defense first, combo guard. One that guard three positions.

Morsell needs higher usage as well.

I just assumed he's leaving because he entered the transfer portal, but maybe I shouldn't have assumed?

It's a pretty safe assumption that Morsell is leaving.

No room for him on this team and maybe he just wants to start making money somewhere. It won't be in the NBA.
