I'm the kiss of death when it comes to starting game threads, so don't get your hopes up for a win.

The Wizards will be without Howard, and Wall (heel) and Porter (knee) are both questionable. The Celtics have their own injury woes. Horford (knee) and Baynes (ankle) are questionable, and Hayward (illness) is doubtful. Kyrie will play but has missed a couple of recent games with a shoulder injury.

The Celtics have won 6 in a row despite the injury issues, so it looks like they're figuring things out after a slow start. Likewise, the Wizards have been reasonably competent in their past 10 games or so, with the exception of the loss in Cleveland. They're no longer a dumpster fire at least.

Interesting comment from Kevin Broom at Bullets Forever. He pointed out that it's not so much that the Wizards have gotten worse since last year. It's that lots of other teams have gotten better while the Wizards have not. Last year's Wizards squad would have gone 39-43 against this season's competition. And last year's Wizards squad would have gone 11-14 in its first 25 games against this year's schedule. That's exactly what this team did.

Hayward and Horford are both out [1] [2]. I believe with near certainty that Baynes will be too, but have not seen anything official.

Huh. Baynes in (minutes restriction) [1], Brown out [2]

Along with Hayward, Horford, and Yabusele, that leaves:


Irving / Smart / Tatum / Morris / Baynes

Rozier / Wanamaker / Ojeleye / Theis / Williams

At least John has looked good. Five points, four assists and a +6. Has taken 3 three's though (1-3).

You could see the difference when they don't have J. Brown and Horford defensively.

It's been a while now with both Wall and Beal off the court. Need some help on offense.

Williams is ridiculous as a shotblocker.

Beal is dealing. He really is playing some good ball.

Not sure which crew I hate most, the Cavs or the Celtics, absolutely unbearable feeds to watch.

How can you call a foul on Beal there, it's a free ball, he get's the tip. WTF is going on?

Feels like Theis should have 5 fouls by now.
