Also, anybody's prediction about playoffs or no for the Wizards reflects assumptions about the other teams. How hard will these other teams tank? Obviously, if 37 wins is enough for the EC 8th seed, then the Wizards just have to play .500 for the rest of the season make it.

Grunfailed is looking at the standings, and he sees the Wizards being 2 games out of the 8 spot. That's all he needs to sell the short-term fix (and lobby for his job).

I think we may see a trade for Kevin Love. More than likely it will involve the first rounder. So no need to root for a high lottery pick because it's going to some other team.

We are 3.5 games out from the 8th seed currently. Somehow. The Wizards usually do just enough to keep Ernie employed, what I'd like to see is that there be NO path for Ted to have any excuses for not keeping Ernie around anymore.

We didn't get much help last night as Miami lost to Toronto, Orlando lost to Phoenix, and Charlotte lost to Brooklyn. But we did help Detroit get a key win while taking a loss ourselves. We're doing our part!

Good point... I guess they think there is a 53% chance of making the playoffs with 37 wins. Interesting.

I think 37 wins is now a stretch and 40+ wins is what it takes to get into the playoffs.

If wall, Beal and porter start playing they way they are capable (and being paid to), and brooks stops playing unproductive players like Morris and ariza, they can make the playoffs. The odds of those things happening this season are quickly diminishing, and my guess is they don’t make the playoffs.

Best case, the Wizards need to go 24-23 to finish 37-45 to make the playoffs. Worst case, they need to go 29-18 to finish 42-40 to make the playoffs.

Playoff push underway

Now tied with Detroit for 9th place. 2 games behind Charlotte for 8th, 3 games behind Miami for 7th, and 3.5 games behind Brooklyn for 6th.

Miami plays Boston tonight, and Brooklyn is currently losing to Sacramento in the 2nd quarter. By the end of the night, we might be 2 games out of 8th place and 3 games out of 6th.
