It looks like EG will still be the GM and the goal will be the 6-8 seed next year. Hope they can add playable talent from the draft. Do they even have enough cap space for all four of Sato, TB, Green, Ariza?

One would certainly hope. But as I said in another thread:

Well, I don't think this team is a 6-8 seed next year. Anyone else notice they can't defend a fly? Why bring back the same personnel, why bring back the same system? :crazy:

I'm at the point right now where it's just comical (and not in a bad way....a legitimately comical, lighthearted, jovial way). It's a nice feeling. I recommend it!

So you get rid of your two small forwards under 25, just to resign your two over 30+ forwards?

They can't defend a fly AND... they just added Portis and Parker - who can't defend a basketball player. The last few games, I've seen Sato defend well and Ariza occasionally defend well, but everyone else - including Beal - has been bad. I think they'll have more games this season where they give up 150 points.

It's a curious question because individually you'd think they weren't so bad but collectively it's so bad. Is Parker going to play minutes on this team? His attitude is terrible, he doesn't deserve much.

I can only hope this is some bizarre negotiating tactic. Holding onto Ariza is totally asinine and flies in the face of any remotely cogent organizational strategy

Of course, because he is a free agent at the end of the season, Wizards and Ariza can still remain in each other's future even if he traded as a rental.

Exactly what I was thinking. Dumping Porter means we completely wasted Oubre on what ended up being a meaningless deal since we're back to tanking. Not saying KO was a truly foundational piece, but whatever they end up spending on Ariza could have at least gone to a younger guy who could still get better.
