GT #57: Wizards @ Pistons 7 PM (NBCSW/1500 AM)

YOUR WASHINGTON BULLETS are 24-32 and have won 2 in a row. Needless to say this must stop. The tank has to keep rolling and I think it may happen on Monday night in Detroit.

The Pistons are coming off a W against the hapless Knicks. They're also battling for a playoff spot. They're also at home for this game which means the Wiz should suffer an L due to the road woes we've seen all season.

Let's go Pistons!

Can we just start the game at the six minute mark of the first quarter?

My head says we need to lose this game, but no doubt that when the game starts, I'm going to root for a dominant win for the Wizlets - especially for Parker and Portis doing well. And hopefully below 30 minutes for Ariza.

A bit of reverse psychology here after predicting a blow out loss against Chicago.

Wizards will debacle the Pistons.

This is a free game.

A loss is great for the tank. A win is very good for the playoff chase.

Who is this Antwaan Randle El, err, I mean Chasson Randle?

(Randle El was a QB in college at Indiana. He was a Steeler before he was a Redskin. He ended up playing more years with the Steelers! http://www.nfl.com/player/antwaanrandleel/2505060/careerstats)

***I hadn't even heard of CHASSON RANDLE prior to the Wizards (who are making GREAT PLAYER ACQUISITIONS!) picking him up.'***

https://www.basketball-reference.com/euro/players/chasson-randle-1.html (Europe stats b/r is getting better!)
https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/chasson-randle-1.html (NCAA stats)

HERE IS SOMETHING RELEVANT: https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/schools/stanford/2015.html

For JWIZ (when I'm not masturbating to the sound of my own voice per you, I put in WORK)

Chasson Randle played four years for Johnny Dawkins, when Johnny was coaching Duke. I know a bit of trivia regarding Dawkins. His HS teammate was the son of my NASA Goddard/Lockheed coworker. SHE wrote a letter of recommendation that got me ACCEPTED AND APPROVED for US AIR FORCE Officer Training School (which I successfully completed in 1987). Johnny Dawkins went to Duke. Randle, Wizards, was Dawkins' PG on Dawkins' BEST STANFORD team back in 2014-2015. That team finished 24-13.

That took me about 15 minutes...

I INFER that Randle is VERY WELL PREPARED to help the Wizards WIN. John Wall and the Detroit PG(who I KNOW ABOUT over the years) have gone back and forth. I am ENCOURAGED THAT PERHAPS WITH SATO OUT, others like Sam Dekker will at least play. Parker should have good assist numbers. Detroit wants to win and REBOUNDING is going to be VERY IMPORTANT. Bobby Portis really needs to bring it.

DOESN'T REALLY WORRY ME EITHER WAY, WIN OR LOSE

free game as far as I'm concerned

No Sato means Beal has to play a lot of point. And it probably means more point forward play from Parker. We might see Parker get his first career triple double.

This is the second time you've referenced the voice thing. You do know I was talking about PIF and not you right?

Bryant is letting the Pistons have an open practice in the paint.

this game is for all of you claiming that Randle was a good NBA player. Getting absolutely embarrassed on both ends.

The Pistons are just playing bully ball. I feel like it's 1996 again. The Wizards are doing a lousy job in allowing Griffin and Drummond to post up in one-on-one scenarios. Gotta bring some double-team help and force Detroit to beat us with 3's. Hell, go zone if you have to.

Was somebody saying he's a good NBA player?

He's a 13th man type of player. It's not bad to have a guy like that as a 5th guard in case someone gets in foul trouble or you need some more shooting. You can make a case that he belongs in this league. But if he's a regular rotation player, you have a depleted backcourt. (We do.)

Beal has hit 44 of his last 49 free throws. He's shooting 89% over the last 10 games. Nice to see.

As said in the last game, Randle is a two in PG body. The bigger issue is Griffin and Drummond destroying Green and Bryant. TB just doesn't have the size to keep Drummond from the paint. At some point, Brooks might have to get Mahinmi out of the mothballs.

Parker is not better than Ariza on D and we need a strong defender or at least a competent one in the starting lineup. I think they'll start Portis at some point at the 5 but he was very effective off the bench in Chicago. My worry is Bryant doesn't start and he gets lost in the shuffle. I don't think it's a big deal if Portis doesn't start as long as he gets his 25+mpg. The bottom line is that both will play a lot of minutes so starting one or both isn't that big of a deal. It does elevate the bench, that's for sure.
