Can't take the Utah "Jazz" seriously. That team name bothers me.

Troy Brown is like 5 years from being anything decent. Not a good NBA player just another Wiz flop draft pick

It's a valid statement by him. What direction is this team going in? Until that is decided he should keep his options open.

Do you have any reasons to justify your conclusion?

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

Yep I am sure he wants to see whether or not Ernie's regime remains in place, among other things

Just from memory I recall a team originally named the New Orleans Jazz.

Pistol Pete Maravich and a former Maryland player named Maurice Howard were formerly New Orleans Jazz players.

Moe Howard was a player on the same Terps teams as John Lucas, Len Elmore, and former Congressman Tom McMillan.

Apples and oranges regarding the skill sets and abilities of Oubre and Brown.

Oubre has better physical skills, but Brown's got the higher BBIQ. Usualy, the higher BBIQ guy develops faster. Having said that, Brown's got to focua a LOT more on defense than he currently does. It looks like he's developed lazy habits on that side of the ball - hopefully a veteran like Ariza talks to him about that. Green has those same lazy habits, so hopefully Brown listens more to Ariza than Green.

Wow, those were the days my friend. I remember Mo Howard as a starter on those great MD teams - very solid - before hot-shot recruit Brad Davis came to town - moving Lucas to the 2 - a questionable move it seemed to me, since cool hand Luke was an All-American PG. Did not remember Howard in the NBA, but yeah he did play a season.

Great glue guy.

Incredible team. If not for NC State would have won a ‘chip

Your comment makes no sense. Kelly Oubre is a completely different player than Troy Brown Jr. Personally I like Troy Brown Jr. In terms of feel for the game, he's light years ahead of Oubre. Oubre is an athlete playing basketball. Troy Brown Jr. is a basketball player. You can already see him doing things here and there that show potential. Knocking down jumpers off the dribble. Going behind the back away from a screener to knock down a jumper. Using his length to finish around the hoop with both hands. Showing a smooth jumper. And running the offense here and there as a 19 year old. Games like this will only serve to boost his confidence. It will be interesting to see what an offseason of can do to improve his game.

Agreed.

Brown has shown plenty of signs of having a very well-rounded game, but his lack of a jumper has made it impossible for him to stay on the floor long enough to demonstrate any of his skills. It looks like he has worked very hard on his jumper, and it's now becoming reliable enough that defenses must respect him, and that's opening up the rest of his game. I expect this dynamic to continue as he continues to improve his jumper.

It's easier to develop a jumper than it is to develop a high basketball IQ. With that in mind, I have more optimism in Brown's long term upside than Oubre. (I still think Oubre will be a useful NBA player, but I'm unsure if he'll ever be a winning NBA player.)

Brad Davis had a nice NBA career with the Dallas Mavericks. He was arguably better the Steve Blake, who had an even nicer NBA career.

John Lucas was the #1 overall draft pick. He had some epic battles with both David Thompson and Phil Ford. You're right, Luke was a PG all the way. He was also a terrific, All-ACC Tennis player. He easily could have had a pro tennis career. His demons claimed a good bit of his career but he's still doing well in NBA coaching/counseling. His son had a decent run in the league as well.
Bye bye Beal.

Brooks is the worst Tank coach ever. Why would you play Beal 39 minutes after being eliminated from the playoffs. I get that Portis and Parker are playing like this is a playoff game because they are free agents-to-be.

NBA coaches get there by nepotism (Flip Saunders' son, Bill Musselman's son, Bernie Bickerstaff's son, etc), cronyism, and FORMER-jockism.

That's just the way it is.

I've been a college facilitator (non PhD prof); an Air Force Captain (with many jobs--Meteorological Satellite coordinator, among others); a middle school math teacher; and many many times a substitute teacher. Oh, I've been a background actor! ... and, a mental health peer specialist/wellness facilitator. Whew, I forgot about postal worker! :D

(The single greatest thing I ever accomplished: I lived in a women's dormitory for three semesters. I didn't pay rent but you could say I kept up my end of the bargain and then some. :) )

I think being a COACH would be NOT THE HARDEST THING.

I enjoy being as Charles Barkley says, IN MY MOM'S BASEMENT, on the computer. :D
Bye bye Beal.

Those battles of Lucas vs Ford... epic. That's pretty much what got me hooked on basketball. Don't get me started on the UNC 4 corners offense - certainly an invention of pure evil - which tainted the otherwise classic games.
