So... this is a real thing. The WH really has spent time discussing the possibility of purchasing Greenland. It’s inept but Trumps interest in Greenland is based on real strategic goals and shifting power. With the melting ice caps Greenland is becoming incredibly strategically important. Shipping lanes are opening up that China in particular would love to exploit. Calling it a polar Silk Road. Our idiot real estate huckster only sees it as a way to make a profit. And shot all diplomatic efforts in the crotch by his greed to turn a buck. To buy an entire country? The hell. To invest in it, sure. To increase ports. Business relationships. To pour seed money there the way China is trying. But not to scoop it up and flip it. Or Piss off an Ally that lets us keep our most northern military base in the world there (and has let us since WW2.

A better diplomat would’ve identified Greenlanders greatest concerns and invested in those projects. Not tell Denmark to sell it off so we can stripmine it for the vast untapped resources that have been frozen under those glaciers.

Again, conservatives have lost all credibility going forward. I'm so tired of turning on the TV to see "Can you believe the hypocrisy of Republicans blah blah blah." One underrated concern: Trump’s tendency to double down on stupid and destructive ideas, despite — perhaps because of? — overwhelming evidence of their stupidity and destructiveness.

Trump’s worst policies, economic or otherwise, tend to follow a pattern. First, he posits something like: Sure, the experts say that has predictably high costs and bad consequences. But ignore them! Believe me, it’s a great idea, and it’ll be completely costless.

So, his latest attack on Jay Powell is a tweet that he's an enemy of the US. If any other President had said this... stuff about the head of the Fed, it not only would be front-page news, the Senate would likely senture the President for it. The independence of the Fed would be called into question. Now, it's just one more tweet in a series of many crazy tweets for the day - crazy has been established as par for the course - all part of the decomposing of our federal government.

If this is true, then it's ridiculous and he really needs to have a better understanding of how things work in life. He's been an embarrassment and a joke on more than one occasion. We all know he isn't the brightest, or far from being filled with integrity, but there's still no argument of the 4 people on the ballot that fateful day in November 2016, he was still the most ethical, and that alone is scary.
