I left off names like PJ Washington, Tyler Herro, and Luka Semancic, who also may be options at the pick.

I think PJ Washington will legitimately be in play, his name has been mentioned repeatedly by Chris Miller and co

Voted Sekou , think some of the other names would be more of a reach

I voted for Goga, with Clarke a close second. Sekou is intriguing, but I fear his stock is inflated right now (call it Siakam Syndrome?).

I think it's going to come down to either Sekou, Bol Bol or one of the normally projected top 8 picks is someone jumps up. I have major injury concerns about Bol Bol so I'm on the Sekou train. Looking at a guy like Bol Bol you are going to want him to put on weight, so if he's already having foot injuries now, what will happen after he adds weight? At the same time, Sekou just seems like the logical pick. We are not winning any time soon, so let's draft a guy that has potential. His wingspan is only 6'11, but I think because he has narrow shoulders. He has the same exact standing reach as Siakam.

I've made my affinity for Bol known, but I do understand the downside there.
So I will be very happy if we take Garland, Sekou, Clarke, or Hunter (1 of the 4 will DEFINITELY be there)

It might be asking too much but I wouldn't mind seeing a trade, ala the Redskins with Montez Sweat, for Bol if he begins to fall in the draft. I think with a guy like Bol it comes down to what the medical staff tells you. Some teams will probably not have him on their board at all. The skill is there though.

I hope Reddish doesn't fall... Wizards twitter seems obsessed with him

I was really high on Cam, but after watching the ESPN draft analysis video I've soured.

Watch on YouTube

I'd prefer Sekou.

20 votes so far, with 13 of them going to Sekou. Kind of amazes me....

I read this as "this is who you think we should take if we don't trade down." I voted Clarke -- no surprise -- but overall I'm still hoping for a trade-down that gets us Clarke all the same!

Big time reach. ESPN has him at 13. NBA Draft Room has him in the mid-20s.

Another piece on Clarke: http://www.nbadraftroom.com/2019/05/a-deep-dive-into-brandon-clarke.html

I've heard various scouts/NBA draft people say they've heard "he could be in play as early as 9" so we'll see, and some of the Wizards connected people like Chris Miller have repeatedly mentioned his name . I don't think he's a massive reach necessarily, it just means a team doesn't like any of the raw Doumbouya/Little/Reddish group of guys and want a more NBA-ready forward.

Apparently Sheppard and his team are relying more on analytics with the draft this year . Well if you run Brandon Clarke through a database, there's just no historical precedent of a player his size becoming a high-level frontcourt player in the NBA. As productive as he is , a lot of teams have dropped Clarke on the board simply because his measurables are just too poor to overlook. On the flipside PJ Washington is 6'7 230lbs with a 7'2 wingspan, the exact type of player who would pop out in such a database given his physical similarities to someone like Draymond Green. Along with his high IQ and plus passing & shooting ability, that leads me to believe that they would probably favor someone like Washington higher than the average ranking.

I like Clarke a lot but I can see how he would slip in the draft. Would surprise me if Wiz took him at #9, unless he did a workout and blew them away with his newfound shooting/perimeter skills

So you're saying Washington might draft Washington ??

Comps are David West and Rodney Rogers... Could do a lot worse. Like his intangibles, passing, BBall IQ, court vision, motor, etc.

Hey I can get on board. I'm not real thrilled with any of these guys projected at 9. i like Herro who's projected lower, and plays the same position as Beal. I'm more interested in seeing if we can acquire a couple 2nd rounders. I really like Naz Reid and Carson Edwards.

Whoever they draft will hopefully come into a better environment than what Grunfeld created. Culture + player development needs to improve.

I'd take Sekou, Bol, Samanic. Most of the players drafted in the first round will be journeymen or role players. I'm not gonna cry if we miss out on a good bench piece by taking a high risk project

Probably not worth taking at #9 - but I'm surprised no one has mentioned Mfiondu Kabengele from Florida State. A smooth shooting big with a 7'3" standing reach. Also he's Canadian - born a true champion. What am I missing?

Hmm, I haven't looked at him before.... Interesting, he's Mutumbo's nephew.

Comp is Serge Ibaka.

If they're willing to take a risk, pick Doumbouya. Otherwise Clarke or trade down.
