I will eternally be thankful to the Hornets being even worse at this draft thing than the Wizards.

Just imagine how horrible this last decade would have been if the Wizards would have gotten stuck with Gilchrist.

I know Bryant is on a good contract but I don't really think he should start for us long term.

One of the best developments of the year so far.

If Beal is finally getting a favorable whistle in the league , he should be an efficient 25ppg+ scorer for another 5-6 seasons at least.

Bryant played well in the 2nd half. Finished with 21 points and 8 boards, and a +7 on/off differential.

It's not just star treatment. Beal has finally figured out all of the tricks of the trade. He reminds me a bit of DeRozan, but better at getting to the rack. He just knows how to get into you and draw a foul at the last second.

Man, if he can just get his 3-ball back up to career averages, he'd be All-NBA. If you take his current numbers, but assume a 40% 3P%, he'd be averaging 31.2 points a game on a TS% of .622. :o

He did go 6-12 on 3-pointers tonight. So that's a start! :)

In 23 minutes tonight, Thomas Bryant went 9-11 from the floor & 3-4 from the line to score 21 points. That's a .823 TS%. He also had 8 rebounds, a block & 2 assists. Despite turning the ball over 5 times, that amounts to an excellent outing.

He needs to improve his defense w/o a doubt.

Maybe keep in mind that Bryant is just about 10 months older than Rui Hachimura.

Increased strength has really helped him. He’s entering his prime and it’s really a shame he wasn’t named an All-Star.. smh

I wonder if anyone has ever averaged 28+ points on a better-than-league-average TS% and not made an All Star game.

He's made 8 of his last 12. He's still a low volume 3 point shooter, but he's made 40% on the season and has shown lots of improvement. If he can keep on gradually improving, we got something there.

The Wizards' shooting coaches are certainly doing their jobs.

Bonga's 3P% increased from .000 to .400
Brown's 3P% increased from .319 to .352
Mahinmi's 3P% increased from .188 to .250
Wagner's 3P% increased from .286 to .393
Ish's 3P% increased from .326 to .350
McRae's 3P% increased from .286 to .377

And everyone except McRae is shooting better recently than they were at the start of the season.

If they can just get Hachimura on board the program, we'll be in good shape.
Hopefully, Beal is showing signs of breaking out of his slump too.

I gotta say by the end of the game I was sick of hearing about what a travesty it was Beal didn’t make the Allstar team. I mean all game long it was non stop he was snubbed oh what a disrespect on and on. And Beal with this just sour look on his face all night sulking around shaking his head, after that block where he just paced around shaking his head about he just made a play like that and he’s not an allstar all while his team is at the other end of the court missing a shot without rebound because that playing 4 on 5 I mean enough already dude get over yourself!

This stuff just really gets on my nerves, this whole I’m the franchise player mentality and don’t disrespect me and the team needs to be built around me and they need to appease me or I might want to leave. Dude maybe you’re not as good as you think you need to improve your defense one thing we learned from Kobe is take pride in your D, just because the Wizards anointed you franchise player and overpaid you doesn’t mean you are a shoe in for all star or it’s some big disrespect I mean his post game with Chris I thought he seriously was about to cry.

Then Halliburton said he bolted after the game without talking to press or answering any questions because he was so upset. They won the game! I mean what a baby, that whole game just blew my mind what a ridiculous reaction.

BB was bummed out about not making the all-star team. He's human...you'd be pissed too if you thought it was something you had earned. Beal's lady Kamiah was going in on the league about the all-star snub on Glen Consor's post-game radio show...when BB showed up and quietly shut her down. Give him some credit for not venting or letting his lady continue to vent on the airwaves. In fact, it was probably a good--and smart--thing that he left quickly last night and didn't address the snub. Best to cool off first.

Beal hurt his leg on that block. That's why he didn't run down to the other end. He got up limping after the block. You probably couldn't see that if you were watching on TV because the play (and cameras) had moved quickly to the other end of the court.

Edit to add: You also probably didn't see Beal run over to Bryant and give the frustrated TB an encouraging pat on the butt after Bryant let an easy pass from BB go through his hands. That's leadership. I'm guessing that the cameras didn't catch that as well.
