I think we've given up a hundred offensive boards.

Not playing well right now, but we also can't win playing 5-on-8. Grizzlies constant offensive fouls (most recent, Morant obviously pushing off before hitting a short fadeaway) don't get called at all.

Beal letting this rookie come in and punk him on his home court. I like Beal but he isn’t our alpha that is going to take us to the promised land.

Man bummer of a game. Well played we just went cold there near the end. Wish Mathews was out there tonight but oh well. Robinson mad that first shot and went cold. I hope the kid does well here.

Overall, I'm fairly pleased with the way the Wizards played. They held the Grizzlies to less than 110 and I bet their ORtg was pretty low. Hachimura had 11 boards in 25 minutes. Wagner had 19 and 9 in 24 minutes while only committing 3 fouls.

If the Wizards shot a little better than 21% from 3-point range, they could have won this. They're not going to beat anybody while shooting that poorly. The fact that it was close is encouraging.

Too much Ja Morant. Still likely to get the 8th spot the way Orlando is playing, but again. Look at how Ja Morant has changed that team. Sure, they have nice young pieces in Jackson, Brooks and Clarke, but he makes everybody better. We're trying to make the playoffs with Napier and Ish at the point. Our second best player is Bertans. The fact that we're competing for a playoff spot is indicative of how bad the East is, but also the fact that Brooks is doing the best coaching job of his time here.

Yeah, because Beal was guarding Morant all night

It wasn’t the guarding-Beal was invisible in the 4th while Morant went ham.

Had they won it might not sound as weird.
Bye bye Beal.

They really should do Mahinmi a solid and release him to go to a contending team, if one will have him.
Bye bye Beal.

Give me a break. Everything in basketball doesn't boil down to who is the alpha and who is punking who. It's a team sport. Beal was pretty solid down the stretch, getting to the rack and getting to the line. He wasn't awesome, but he wasn't bad either.

Morant is good. He had a good game. That doesn't represent some sort of failure for Beal "letting" Morant "punk" him.

We lost the game because we were crushed on the boards.

I see Scott Brooks is still a rotation mastermind.

Not even mad Wiz lose games like this all the time. Last minute 4th quarter shots be going on for decades on some BS luck. Who remember Michael Ruffin Morris Peterson shot back in 05-06. Remove the Wiz logo and go back to the Bullets or even Senators. This team has bad juju with this name.

Return to Washington Wizards
