Grunfeld Was Not The Problem! Duh!!

Obviously, Grunfeld was not the issue. The Wizards are no better off without him running the team. Sheppard has mismanaged this franchise in only a few months by not moving on from Brooks, the failed Isaiah Thomas experiment, failure to move Mahimi, failure to move Bertans at the deadline who was in high demand are just a few blunders. Grunfeld was at least aggressive in making transactions giving the fans and team hope. Once again, fans blame the wrong guy for systemic failures.

The failure to not move Ian Mahinmi's contract was Tommy's fault? Ok.

Not only that, Tommy convinced Ted to sign Mahinmi. EG was totally bypassed in the signing.

Sheppard further compromised the success of the Grunfeld administration by refusing to trade our upcoming lotto pick for Tristan Thompson.

What a buffoon. Thompson would have put us over the top!

What the $^@%@*%!?
In order to make a trade, there has to be a taker. Mahinmi is hard to trade. Not impossible, but hard. I am sure TS tried, if that was/is part of the plan.
TS rolled the dice on IT. It cost us next to nothing, but maybe you could make a case that IT took a roster spot. TS flipped IT for some value. IT is now without a team.
All in all, it is too early to judge TS. Let's take it down a notch or two.

 God bless ya Ernie, seeing this post brought a huge smile to my face and chuckle. Tell us, how would you packaged Bertans, Bertans & next-years 1st round pick for Tristin? :D

It's true that we didn't have systemic failures in the EG administration.

Of course, the reason for that is... We didn't have any systems. :eek1:

Bench is better now than it ever was with EG at the helm. He was too lazy to do the DD necessary to find players that are young, cheap and productive. EG loved overpaying for vets that have already proven they aren't any good.

Does Eric Maynor ring a bell? He was out of the league a year after we signed him to a 2 yr guaranteed deal. Vintage Grunfeld. They were still paying Blatche for years when he was playing in China.

Defensively this team is weaker than its ever been and can’t stop anyone from scoring. Bench? Beal has to play a ton of minutes just to keep them in the games.

Bertans was a good signing and excellent three point shooter but so was Bogdonavic.

All of the fans clamoring for Ernies departure hoping for a miracle turnaround and greener pastures with a new GM are sorely disappointed.

Wow... just wow! I am truly amazed.

Someone should write a history of the sterling era of Ernie Grunfeld -- & you would be the one to do it!

And the same Wiz GM that acquired Boggy failed to keep him. I don't think he even tried - because he messed up with cap management.

There was part of me that wanted Dolan to hire EG back just so I could see Steven A explode in national TV!

Well... then there's the fact that neither of them was a "signing." We traded a tpe for Bertans. Anyone remember what Bojan's 23 games cost us? Oh yeah... a lottery pick in the deepest draft of the decade. Like Millie says, Ernie wasn't the problem. Ernie just caused the problem.

Also, we sacrificed a first round pick to rent Bogdanovic for 3 months. Bertans didn't cost anything to acquire.
