Wish laser didnt go first. Whoever goes 2nd or 3rd has an advantage, it always seemed to me. He could have sunk one or two more it seemed to me. What was surprising is that he used all the clock. The other two had, like, 5 seconds left after their last shot.

Laser had to go first in the final round with 26 and the 2 others had 27. He struggled a little on the left but came strong on the right. All it takes is 1 or 2 misses in this contest to lose. they move that line back 5 feet I would bet serious money on Bertans or Steph.

I’m starting to think the NBA only hires singers who will completely destroy their career with the national anthem. Chaka Kahn somehow one-upped Fergie.

4th quarter was a lot of fun to watch.

Team Giannis could have used Beal down the stretch in that game. Although I bet LeBron would have managed to snag Beal given how last year's picks went.

Not really just like any pickup game on the street. But just with NBA top players. Took too long. Maybe they should go to 8 next year in the 4th or reach a medium to speed things up a little. Folks on the East don't need to be up nearly midnight on a Sunday to see the final result of a charity game.

I stopped watching All Star Games when the defending players began to clear the lane to allow opposing players to dunk with way too much time left in the 4th quarter. I watched this year because I was curious to see how the changes would impact the viewing experience.

I enjoyed this years format of the 4th quarter, but I do agree the game itself went too long. I think the first 3 quarters need to be shortened because I lost interest in them after awhile. I’d be fine with 8 minute quarters for the first three but it won’t ever happen since that cuts out a lot of commercial revenue.

I hope they keep the charity aspect of the game. I think it helped the energy level of the game overall. No one wants to be the guy who appears to be indifferent towards a charitable organization receiving $100,000 or $200,000.

As far as it being a pickup game, we agree yes it is. I’ve accepted long ago that it is the nature of the event. Hard to run intricate plays when they aren’t together long enough to create the timing/chemistry required. I accept what cannot be changed and choose to enjoy what has been changed. As you said this is the best of the NBA competing. In prior years it didn’t feel that way to me.

The all-stars competed hard in that fourth quarter and that (along with raising money for kids) is what matters most to me. They took that sh*t seriously in that quarter...even vehemently arguing about calls.

I love that kind of competition--whether it's a bunch of teens playing a pick up game or the best players in the world. And playing to a certain score reminded me of the games of 21 I used to play on the playground.

It was a great new format...maybe some tweaking is necessary but nothing major. I might for example have the winning team have to win by 2. (A rule on many playgrounds.)

You guys are right maybe I am just a grumpy old man that does not realize the changing times. This was the most interesting allstar game in a long time I agree with that but had a hard time trying to stay up to keep up on the East Coast.
