Well because to be fair to the 9th seed teams that are still with in reach of catching the 8th seed teams.

Or... why? Why should the 8th seed have its position in the playoffs be up for grabs?

They are 5.5games back. And I said it for the west too. I just think it would be fair.

You don't mean it would be fair; you mean it's what you want. Those are different things.

I would think it's fair weather the wizards were in 9th or not. It's definitely the right think to do if the 9th place team still had a chance to catch the 8 the imo

With the NBA season extended to what it is, is there any chance John comes back (even for a few games)? Obviously assuming the NBA doesn't go straight into playoffs.

Interesting, hadn't thought about that. But right now I'm assuming they go straight to the playoffs. Would be nice to see John out there, tho!

Teams are just going to have to play themselves. However it turns out, they'll go 1-1 in the game.

Knicks will play themselves and lose 3 times. Both teams will somehow find a way to lose and Dolan's band will perform the halftime show and everyone will lose again.

I wonder if this is from contact with players like Gobert to may have been playing with the virus and it's taken until now for them to show symptoms and get tested, or did one of them get it and give it to the others, or did they all get it independently somewhere else and it's just a coincidence they play for the same team. I guess that's the whole problem with such limited testing, it's hard to really know anything about how this is spreading.

They could have gotten it from anywhere. That's the problem now--the virus being everywhere--and why we need everyone to embrace effective social distancing. Contact tracing is a losing game at this point. We are all in this together now.

None of the Nets played the Jazz or any of their opponents recently.

Maybe one of the officials passed it from one team to the other. There's 657,925 possibilities... and counting.
