For a full team I'd go

C: Unseld (24)/Webber (14)/Howard (10)
PF: Webber (20)/Howard (18)/Ariza (10)
SF: Jordan(20)/Ariza (18)/Beal (10)
SG: Arenas(20)/Beal (20)/Jordan (8)
PG: Wall (32)/Arenas (16)

Unseld isn't giving you much spacing or rim protection but he's a tremendous passer from the low post and his rebounding and defensive IQ will translate rather well. If Unseld develops *any* kind of 3 ball then you can play him 30 minutes a night. The goal of this roster is to always have 2 of MJ, Beal, Arenas, Wall and C-Webb on the court at all times outside blowouts. Depth alone means this roster will abuse benches and tire opposing teams out. Sure it's not the Lakers but this team would definitely surprise even other similarly built teams.

I think in the current era, Gilbert Arenas would pretty easily be the better player.

there has never been a single second where john wall has been better than, or even particularly close to peak Gilbert. Not a single second. Peak Gilbert was arguably the best offensive player in the NBA in a league with peak Kobe, peak Wade, near peak LeBron, etc. John Wall has never at any point come close to that.

Arenas/Wall
Beal/Chenier
Webber/Dandridge
Hayes/Gus Johnson
Unseld/Bellamy

Not much three point shooting from the frontline, but won't need it with Beal, Chenier and Arenas shooting bombs away. Webber and, especially Hayes, are capable of scoring from pretty much anywhere inside the 3 pt line. Dandridge, Johnson and Bellamy are a formidable defensive frontline. And Unseld's rebounding and outlet passes will make Wall a terror on the fastbreak.

I thought about Rip Hamilton, and I agree. Also, yeah on Dandridge over Pierce.

My team would be:

Wall
Hamilton
Dandridge
Wallace, Sheed
Wallace, Ben

If we go in prime as Bullets/Wizards then it would be

Arenas
Beal
Dandridge
Hayes
Unseld

I can't put Webber over Unseld or Hayes. I rate Arenas over Wall, but John at his best (God mode) performed even better than 60-pt Gil.

I think Arenas was most effective the year the Wizards swept Toronto. Way better than Caron Butler, who I feel is being massively o overrated.

Jamison was better than Butler.

Healthy Jeff Ruland was a stud.

I know nothing about Gus Johnson but stats argue strongly he is top-3 all time.

Prime Rasheed would be awesome, but unfortunately, we didn't have that guy. We only had rookie Rasheed. Likewise, our versions of Pierce, Ben and MJ weren't that great either.

Beal is lower on the depth chart than Jeff Malone?

I saw that too, maybe it's not so rigidly ordered other than by position.

Hey, where's Tom Henderson? Only PG to win a ring with the franchise. Yuk yuk
Aloha, BK. (Stay well my friend!)

Tom Henderson was a University of Hawaii basketball teammate of a local sports radio host.

A couple of times he's discussed his championship with the Bullets and the host, Artie Wilson, has talked about his style of playing. Tough, physical player who could distribute, defend well, and score when needed. He was even an Olympian on the Moscow Olympics team.

(An aside: I've called in frequently as Ken from Maryland. We all agree Henderson would be very good in today's game).

Any chance Legler or Bertans make these teams as 3 point specialist role players?

Surely Eric Maynor, Doug Roth, and Ike Austin crossed your mind when you made this list.

I love Gilbert.
but he played zero defense
I know he only played with the Bullets for two years, but just from a talent standpoint, how can you leave out Walt Bellamy?

Sexy Rexy was good... but like a lot of other Bullewizards... only after he left town.

4. Archie Clark
5. Don Ohl
6. Jeff Ruland
7. Bobby Dandridge
8. Robert Pack

Some 3-pt shooters:

Don't sleep on Archie Clark although his Bullets career was brief.
He did average ~ 25 ppg.

side note re Harvey Grant - strange thing about him, as he bulked up/got stronger
(something he arguably needed to do) his shooting stroke got progressively worse
the longer he was in the league not quite to Ruffin levels but definitely in the realm
of self check.

Ruland - loved him. Was he McFilthy or McNasty?

CCJ called Jeff Ruland a "stud"...and he was. Jeff really was a unique big man.. a good scorer and rebounder, an outstanding passer, and unbelievably light on his feet for a man his size. Too bad injuries cut his career short.

Coach Bernie Bickerstaff. But also Eddie F Jordan. And the hapless Jimmy Lynam in good natured fluster.

PG: Chris Whitney on two sprained ankles. but paradoxically also Hot Rod. Muggsy being Muggsy.
SG: Hibachi. Larry Hughes. Legler
SF: Tuff Juice. “I called game” Pierce. MJ.
PF: Webber. Googs. Big Ben. Sheed melting down about something.
C: Big Gheorghe. Haywood (vs Bron). Manute. JaVale starting in the paint to block a three point shot at the apex of its arc. Also his never-to-be-duplicated dunk contest tricks. As usual the winner that year was... not.

Are the Wiz’lets I’ve most enjoyed watching.

Archie Clark was one of the first Bulete I remember. He was tons of fun to watch. My all-time favorite to watch - little Kevin Porter. I wasn't a Pearl fan - because I remember him trying his best to get traded and taking shots at the city of Baltimore. At shooting guard, I'm going with a player who I thought was taken for granted too much, so I get an all-Kevin backcourt. I loved... Ruland, but gotta go with the legends up front.

PG: Kevin Porter
SG: Kevin Grevey
SF: Bernard King
PF: E
C: Wes

Regards and respect to Honeycomb and Bells - I never saw them play, but wow - they put up some impressive numbers.

I'll always wonder how good Pack would have become if he didn't get than nerve problem with his leg. He was a late bloomer that was getting better and better and better - still learning the PG position and developing a jump shot. His injury devastated the Webber/Howard era.

I must say, one of the most fun Wizards teams was the Juwan Howard-led squad in 95-96 after Webber and Pack went down. It was Howard, Muresan, Brent Price, Cheaney and a rookie Rasheed Wallace, with Legler and Eackles killing it off the bench.

When it comes to 3 point shooting Bertans and Legler are on a different level above Chapman.
