Best Wizards/Bullets team you can put together

What is the best Washington Wizards/Bullets team + coach that can be put together, which can compete in todays NBA? Pick from all the former Wizards/Bullets players who have once worn a Washington jersey, but you are confined to their "output" while on the team. Meaning, as an example, you cant pick Jordan in his prime with the Bulls, you have to use his stats as a Wizard. Also, you are constructing a team, so, as an example, you should probably not pick 5 power forwards, unless you think they can, as a team, compete best in todays NBA.

The backcourt is pretty easy with Arenas/Wall at PG and Beal/Malone at SG.
I'd probably just start Webber at center. He's not a great rim protector, but he'd be an amazing hub in the high post. I think I'd take Nene as the backup center, particularly if I get 2011-12 Nene (who only played 11 games as a Wizard). I considered guys like Unseld, Ruland and Hayes, but I don't think their games translate to today's style all that well.
Forward is the hardest position. These days, you simply MUST have versatile defenders at the forward position or you just can't compete in the playoffs. The Wizards haven't had many great two-way players at forward. Guys like Jamison and Bernard King would get played off the floor. I think I'll go with some combination of Caron Butler, Harvey Grant (92-93), Trevor Ariza (who was damn good in 2013-14) and Juwan Howard. Howard is iffy though. He'd need to develop a 3-ball and I think his shooting stroke limited him to under 20 feet. Might be better off with Bertans, although our rebounding would suffer. Googs is another option. In today's game, I think he'd be much like Danillo Gallinari.
So it's:
PG Arenas/Wall
SG Beal/Malone
SF Ariza/Butler
PF Howard/Grant
C Webber/Nene

I don't have enough down time right now to give this good consideration, but a name to not overlook: Dandridge was a good defender, a tough player, and while he was barely in the 3P era and was never really called on to do it, his FT% was good, which indicates he might have been decent from range with some practice. Re 3P shooting, the same could be said about Chenier and Monroe.

I think if you take out MJ who was still really good in his wizards days. You start butler and give either dandridge or stackhouse the spot and give that last spot to Richard Hamilton or juwan Howard.

A lot of people don't like MJ but man he was still good as a wizard even if he wasn't MJ good. Just imagine if he didn't play baseball but the same year he left for hat he came to the wizards .even an aging MJ imagine having him for those three years. Maybe they don't get any better but who knows what the butter fly effect could have been. Maybe he could have won something here.

Prime Rasheed would be awesome, but unfortunately, we didn't have that guy. We only had rookie Rasheed. Likewise, our versions of Pierce, Ben and MJ weren't that great either.

Beal is lower on the depth chart than Jeff Malone?

I saw that too, maybe it's not so rigidly ordered other than by position.
Hey, where's Tom Henderson? Only PG to win a ring with the franchise. Yuk yuk

Dont forget to pick a coach. KC Jones? That would be my pick.

Sure, I guess you could make a case for Beal over Malone, though Malone was a better defender and I’m guessing more efficient. After Johnson, IMO, the three 2’s are interchangeable.
The last two overall on my list were Ruland and Jamison.
Ruland for the injuries and Jamison cuz, you know, the matador defense.
Which two bigs would you substitute for them? Tom McMillan? Chris Webber?

I think Harvey Grant would be a pretty nice role playing PF in today's game. He was an excellent, mobile defender with a good shooting stroke that would surely stretch out to 3-point range in the modern era.

Ben and Rasheed would be great picks if this was dynasty format.
Wizards MJ would be a great bench/instant offense scorer. A lot of the issues Wizards MJ had was that he simply wasn't a 37 MPG guy anymore but he had too much pride to admit it, so that ended up tanking his efficiency numbers. Legit think you can get a poor man's Kawhi level of impact if you limit him to 25-30 MPG with Kawhi-style load balancing. He was even still a plus on defense!

interesting that the board is split as to whether Gil or Wall is the better PG here.

I think in the current era, Gilbert Arenas would pretty easily be the better player.
It's basically the difference between Damian Lillard and De'Aaron Fox. Both are excellent players, but Lillard's ability to put so much pressure on the defense from behind the 3-point line just opens things up much more.
Wall could narrow the cap if he ever decided to defend at the level he is physically capable of.
