GT #66: Bubble Game #2: Wizards @ Nets 2 PM (NBCSW/1500 AM)

YOUR Washington Bullets are 24-41 and for some reason still have a shot at a play in game for the postseason in the NBA's Bubble!

On Friday, they trailed and didn't play a lick of D against the Phoenix Suns.

Without Bradley Beal, there lacks sufficient punch to the Bullets attack. There also exists no rim protection and very little perimeter defending.

The Nets have been decimated by injury and COVID-19. They are similarily playing with a makeshift group of castoffs, GLeaguers, and some great building blocks for the future. Expect Caris LeVert and Jarrett Allen (our 2017 1st round pick, remember?) to have huge games.

This will be a semi-playoff type game. The Wizards will probably have no chance of getting that play-in game, right? Should they take that L.

Nets looked terrible to start but have battled back and re-taken the lead 16-15.

I was getting a little worried with our strong start, glad we could bring Jerome Robinson in to get things under control

Agreed. He's showing lot of confidence this game and Allen has no interest coming out on him. I also appreciate the all-around game that TBjr is displaying. His 3pt shot is still broke but he's doing a lot of "rotational" things that can be beneficial to this team next season.

Serious question: is Jerome Robinson actively trying to lose?

Probably not.

Wizards have to go 4-2 to even entertain the thought of getting a play-in. Looks like the lottery pick is secured.

The Bubble Tank lives on. As bad as Robinson is, when you give up 118 points to a Nets team that has no Irving, KD, Dinwiddie and picked up two serviceable NBA players in Beasley (Rona) and Crawford (old) that don't play, it's about defense. You also might want to guard Joe Harris from the perimeter since he's the only true 3-point threat they have.

But least Bryant had a huge game. He was impressive against Alle, who doesn't like to move out of the paint on D.

I'm not sure the Nets beat anybody the rest of the way. They have Levert and Joe Harris, Allen to rebound. We made Chiozza look good at times.

The Wiz play the Pacers (L), Sixers (L), Pelicans (should be L unless they gave up), Thunder (L), Bucks (even w/o Giannis probably (L), Boston (L).

Nets play Bucks (L), Celtics (L), Kings (?), Clippers (L), Magic again (probably L), Portland (could be done maybe W)

Fascinating that the Nets game planned to stop Rui. I think this reboot will do wonders for his development. Just getting him more experience.

Never have Bullets games meant more and held so little interest.
