The Wizards have built a pretty good offensive team around him and the team is ready made for Wall to put up some impressive stats and reclaim his star status. Then we can talk about a trade.

I doubt it. The wizards don’t want this bleeding into the season. I bet he’s moved in the next few days for a package of exactly what we expect. Couple assets+wall for westbrook or something similar.

I don't believe they should do this but agree with you that they probably will.

If I was the GM, I'd not rush to trade him.

Losing assets just to dump him when this roster has had so few assets is just dumb.

I think one of the major reasons it got out of hand was Chris Miller - the Wizards interviewer. He got on all the radio stations - local and national - insisting it was a huge deal, and he put on his twitter account - Where there's smoke, there's fire. The story was ready to blow over until he made it big - probably to get himself national attention. And he's known for being Wall's buddy in the media. He's done tons of interviews with Wall.

Really? Are you super young or did he rekindle your passion? I've been a fan/victim since the Jeff and Moses Malone days of being an 8 seed and being escorted to a quick vacation via the Pistons every spring (middle school mid to late eighties). I remember seeing the Tom Hammonds pick live in '89, and watching Kemp go off the board an hour or so later while on a trip in the midwest.

As for Wall, this is kind of pathetic. And Broken Trust? Please. There's never been trust or loyalty ever, players or ownership, and to believe different is to be stupid. It's power. You've got it, or you don't. He had it, and he doesn't anymore. Btw, this is a sneak preview of Beal's potential future. Those who hear an interview and are sold that he'll stick around no matter how much we suck are exceptionally naive. Every contender on earth is going to be trying to pry him off of us going forward, and why on earth would he say no if it's a legit contender? Maybe he's like Kawhi, and does his own thing, and doesn't play the game 95% of players with power do, but that's very rare, it's much more likely he's just biding his time and if something better comes along, he'll leave too. If we ever get that Godfather offer before his contract is up, we should 1000% take it. You do not want to be crying into your hands because you bought some sentiment that he was old school, only to have the rug pulled out as has happened to innumerable teams over the years for decades now.

It's his JOB to make sure that we don't get 50 cents on the dollar if we trade Wall. It's his JOB to make sure he doesn't come off as having soured on someone whom he then has to trade.

Worse yet, if the only guy we can trade for is Westbrook, & we have to give something along with Wall... you can count this team out for the next 5 years.

So much for "building around Bradley Beal" -- it'd make more sense to say we are tearing it down around Brad.

You get zero cents on the dollar on Wall because of the contract and the injury. It's damn near untraceable. It's silly to pretend that we could get any value back for Wall that wasn't anchored to an equally horrific contract. Nobody was getting 60, 50, 25, or even 10 cents on the dollar, you were getting nothing, just to get rid of the deal you had to add value to your side, so another team could tolerate it, which meant either throwing in picks, or taking on a horrible contract back.

Normally there's a lot of logic, even if I disagree with it, to your takes, this just strikes me a silly. Nobody want's his contract/health risk. Nobody. The idea that we could get 50 cents on the dollar for wall? We should all dance for a hundred hours straight if we could get 50 cents. More likely we get zero, and more likely we get negative value because we have to sacrifice value or take on something horrible just to get someone else to take that poison pill.

Remember, right before Wall was put out of commission in December 2018, Kevin reported that there was a potential deal with the Lakers to be had

Attach some mediocre assets and move on. Wall+Wagner+Robinson+Couple 2nds or something like that. Lets not go into the season with this dragging on.

It’s good for both sides. We need to turn the page and embrace the everybody eats culture with Beal as the leader of the team, and we pay Wall the respect of not making him stay in an awkward toxic situation, let him go jack up contested 17 footers and watch his new team play 4 on 5 defensively.

This is about the best thing I’ve heard in a while.

Washington never won anything with Wall. A trade needs to happen.

The Wizards need to trade Beal, too. Move both and move on.

Take whatever for Wall and then get Fort Knox for Beal.

That was then. The Lakers have Schroder, and Caruso. They could bring back Rondo and/or Bradley on the cheap. They have no need for Wall and his salary.

You’re giving the Wizards too much credit, when were they ever competent?

Cleveland has a couple of young PGs and both Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson that they could part with.

Wall to NYK? They could in theory absorb him if he waives the kicker but, they could also trade us bobby portis which we could cut and say some scraps like smith jr nitillkina and bullock. All one year cheap deals. They need a point guard and even if they get vanfleet they could use wall. And I bet wall would be fine going to nyc

Otoh, Wall is a klutch client. But yeah it seems unlikely.

the point is... this isnt the first time Wall has had Rich Paul try to orchestrate a trade out of DC
