How about you? Was this the right move? Or... who cares? Or... what?

I care. He seemed like the only guy interested in rebounding the ball during the first two games... and he barely got a shot.

It’s become quite clear to me from watching the roster moves the last couple of years that the Wizards want a certain “type” of player and they are overcompensating towards their “type”, to the detriment of the team IMO.

Looks like wiz still have some connection with Childs. I’m sure this makes PIF happy:

Thanks for the info, nat -- & yes it does please me.

But... I would promote Mathews to the regular roster & give Childs a 2-way deal. Which still may happen of course....

Why would we want someone who rebounds? Asking for a friend.

The league is in the process of adding an extra two way spot for this season. I would assume Childs would be first in line for this and could possibly get some real playing time on a team with a handful of covid cases and an injured Bryant. That could open the door to the wizards realizing he’s a really good prospect that they should hang onto.

That would be great! Where is he these days? I can't find him playing basketball anywhere!

Hold on. That must be outdated. Here's the just-announced 2021 roster -- featuring all 4 of our guys: https://erie.gleague.nba.com/news/erie-bayhawks-announce-2021-roster/

It's a 10-man roster. 4 of the guys played in the league last year (3 of them on the Bayhawks). Another 2 guys were in the Pelicans training camp last month. The other 4 are our guys.

The Draymond Generation: Why undersized bruisers are ideal in today's NBA

Childs fits the bill, but there aren't any minutes to give him a spin probably

Great find! That article is super interesting.

I don't see why there wouldn't be minutes for Childs, btw -- we lost our starting C.

Would I be a bad person if I admitted I don't see anything like Draymond Green in Childs. Even with the weight loss, can he defend anyone? Ok, I won't admit it.

Can he defend? I have no idea. But, he's shooting the ball extremely well in G League -- 40% on 3-pointers & an efg% of 66.7%. Be nice if he made his free throws! (33.3% -- ?)

His offensive rebounding is very good. Defensive rebounding less so -- just about average.

Overall, if Childs played this well in the NBA, he'd be a very solid player indeed!

Childs had a great game today. He doesn’t play enough, but when he gets actual minutes, he produces.

10 points 4 assists 6 rebounds 1 steal in just 23 minutes. All of the other starters were -20 or worse, Childs managed a +3.

He’s been extremely efficient, rebounded well, and had a huge positive impact all year long for Erie. Seems like a really smart fundamentally sound player. In good position defensively, has good vision and passing skills offensively. He finishes above the rim with authority. I’m more excited about Childs than our potential 1st round pick.

Really think the wizards should give him an opportunity at the C position.

Good to serve Caleb Homesley knocking down several deep 3s.

If Kevin Porter Jr ever gets his head together he has the potential to be a very nice NBA player.
