For what it's worth:

We played 72 games last year, 87.8% of an 82-game season. If you multiply those win predictions by 87.8%, then those who predicted 29 wins actually got it right.

If you ignore the bubble when Beal and Bertans sat out, then those who predicted 31 wins got it right.

This season will be a 72-game season.

I'm predicting 36 wins: .500 ball.
9th place in the standings.

30 wins/9th place in the East

37 wins/eighth seed.

We were 11 games under .500 last year. I like the team this year, but that's A LOT of ground to make up. We still have a bad defense. Maybe it won't be historically awful, but it will be in the bottom 3rd of the league. It's tough to win more than half your games if you have maybe the 24th ranked defense in the league.

I'm high on the Wiz. I think we surprise a lot of people. 4 seed. Don't know how many wins though.

My heart says to guess much higher, but my years as a Wiz fan say to keep my expectations in the dirt.

edit. actually I'll go Vegas odds...they are rarely wrong on the Wizards.

40 wins. 40-32 is basically the equivalent of a 46 win normal season. Potential for higher though depending on how fast the young guys improve.
