I am completely confused at the contact tracing rules at this point. The NHL and NFL have done a much better job than this mess.

Bright side? We won’t be deflated because Brooks, fresh off unleashing an inspired rotation, gives Robinson a ton of burn.

Sheesh, not even 8 players? Our 1 game winning streak stays in tact for another day.

The Wizards ought to have the whole team host a "Covid Party" so that everyone gets it now and they don't have to worry about it later.

Unfortunately there are lingering effects of getting the virus for some people. My friend got it 6 months ago and is having difficulty breathing.

How old is he? Was he in exceptional health prior to catching it?

He's around 35- not an athlete or anything like that though. I'm not sure what his health issues were before exactly.

I think league stoppage/shutdown is inevitable. Probably for the best.

I've had a good friend pass from covid-19. Unfortunately, he was one of those people who didn't trust the official reported numbers.
With that being said, I'm in support of canceling of the season. Not because I think any of the athletes will die, but because I believe they'll spread it to other people who are high risk.

Sorry to hear. I also had a friend pass away recently. He was in his mid 30s, wore masks to work but had some underlying conditions. It seems like some players (like Damian Lillard) are taking this seriously, but others are clearly not. I love watching basketball but continuing the season is sending the wrong message.

Tommy Sheppard announces that we have nine players right now in health and safety protocols and six who have tested positive for COVID-19.

Interesting strat the Wizards are going with. A war of attrition. Be the last team standing and win the Championship by default. Double bottom line body bag.

Well, I believe that I recognize the position behind nate's question as the same one that's behind his suggestion that the Wizards have "a Covid party."
Some diseases kill a person as easily no matter what his or her age. But, most diseases are more dangerous to people in poor health than to those in good health -- whether their poor health results from being old or for any reason.
Young people in robust health can die of Covid, but they won't die at nearly the same rate as old people in lesser health. But, another main reason Covid has killed so many more old people than young is that a large number of them live in close quarters & are, therefore, more likely to contract it than people who live day to day in less concentrated groups.
To put it another way: this is a pandemic, & like any other in history it involves two issues -- the nature of the disease & the rate at which it spreads. Young people may be less likely to die from it, but they are no less likely to spread it -- especially in the absence of safety measures (masks, all the forms of social distance &/or isolation, etc.).
In fact, it is inherently the case that people who don't feel that Covid is a serious threat to them personally are more likely than others to help spread it.
It's no different from the fact that
a guy who thinks he's a really skilled driver & therefore can drive extra fast & with extra traffic maneuvering is more likely to kill the people in the car with him than someone who doesn't imagine that about himself. This is a temporary thread, obviously. But, it's not a political thread. I wouldn't have written the above except that nate pointed to the issue from a particular quasi-political POV. I mean no disrespect, but at the same time this pandemic is a significant real-world situation, & it didn't seem right to let pass without comment a POV which to me -- as to anyone who deals with it at a level other than "my opinion" -- might at least
give the appearance (I don't say more than that) of wanting to trivialize it.

When is the next game that we'll have enough players? Or is that still up in the air?
