4 of the 6 Wizards with Covid are totally asymptomatic. 2 have "mild symptoms".

Again, I ask, has a single NBA player been sick enough to be hospitalized? Covid is dangerous to old people, but for healthy people under age 35, it honestly is barely worse than the flu. It is 100 times more dangerous to those above 60 than it is to those below 40.

So far, Covid has accounted for about 2% of all deaths for people age 25-34 - and nearly all of them had comorbidities that NBA players lack. If they are this worried about Covid, they should definitely be making sure no NBA player drives to and from practice - a far deadlier activity. The NBA should mandate that players live within walking distance of the practice facility. It's for their own good.

So no big deal if 59 yr old Doc Rivers catches it. 61 year old Stan Van Gundy. 62 year old Tom Thibodeau. 71 year old Popovich. Or any assistant coaches. Or training staff. Or their families. The point is you cannot socially isolate and play basketball. And players who catch it, while they may not be in danger, can become a vector of infection for others. Children tend not to suffer, but their teachers and bus drivers might. It's not as simple as to say: let them all get sick and play. We are talking about whether the activity of basketball allows for players to not transmit it, or if it is an activity that is at high risk to pass it, and then if they become a danger to ANYBODY they come into contact with. In the bubble they had a choice whether they were willing to risk it. Now that the season has begun they don't.

Fair points.

They should allow all the Covid positive players and formerly Covid positive players (and coaches) to practice together and just stay at the practice facility until they are no longer symptomatic.
