2021 Draft Thread - Part II

He’s got Fred Van Fleet written all over him. Plus on defense, plus on offense, big time leader and competitor.

At 15, I think you want Wagner, Giddey, Butler, or Garuba, in that order.

I think we can trade down and get Butler around the end of the 1st round - because of the heart issue.

Sign me up. I see Wieskamp listed at 56 on Tankathon’s mock!! Along with Queta and Petrusev at 36&39 respectively. Tell me why we shouldn’t acquire a bunch of 2nd round picks and get all of those guys?

34&36 from OKC would be good pickups. Not sure what the exact trade down would look like, but we could easily buy a pick in the 40-60 range and grab guys like Weiscamp and Livers.

Right now looking at Tankathon’s mock, I would trade 15 for 21&32 from NY and pick Butler&Petrusev, and buy a couple picks in the 40-60 range and add Liver and Wieskamp.

Of course, if Wagner or Giddey drop to 15, I’m staying put

Hey NatP4, I was very keen on getting Butler but his heart condition issue would worry me a lot. It's annoying because I thought his fit and potential are superb for the Wizards.

Has anyone heard anything new on his health?

If Giddey or Wagner is not there then I'd go...

21. Sharife Cooper & 32 B.J. Boston.

Then try to add either Livers or Weiskamp via another pick (probably couldn't pull off both).

Another mock that has Ziaire Williams going to Wiz. Just don't see them taking him that high.

I think Duarte or Kispert will be the pick unless someone slides down.
Bye bye Beal.

I doubt the pick is Duarte. Tommy isn't picking a 24-year old college player at #15. Unless they think he's the next Dillon Brooks, though he weighs about 30 less pounds.

He's not a fit for us at all, but for the record I think Scottie Barnes is up there with almost anybody in this year's class as a prospect.

He can shoot.

He can defend.

He's 6'6''

He's pro-ready.

He definitely fits. Wizards do not have enough shooting.

Yeah... anytime you can take an old, poor rebounding wing that cant draw fouls, has almost as many turnovers as assists, and scores with Westbrook efficiency at #15 ... you do it

Duarte will be a FAR better player that Brooks.
Dillon Brooks is the new Avery Bradley. Overrated defender due to fouling/grabbing that cant create, score, or rebound.

Lol Hyland ended Juzangs draft hopes at the combine. Risky tier six there overall.

He’s not really a perimeter threat at all. Also, his defense is limited to defending on the perimeter. He doesn’t defend the paint or rebound all that well at all. I’ve been up and down on Barnes throughout the year, but I’m not sure what he does all that well at the next level. He’s really just a more athletic Kyle Andersen

I agree. Dillon Brooks is not a good player. I expect Memphis' new FO to work hard on trading him this off season. Let's hope Tommy isn't around when the phone rings that day. :)

OTOH, I agree that Chris Duarte looks like he'll be a really good NBA player. He's one reason I would LOVE to trade down this year.

Dillon Brooks is a very useful player on the defensive end---just ask Bradley Beal. :D
