Harrell is a savant at running pick-and-roll. He knows exactly how to read a defense and get to the right spot. I really hope he'll be able to impart his wisdom to Gafford and Hachimura during the time he spends here.

The only thing about Lou Will with Harrell is Lou's proficiency at shooting the 3 ball meant teams had to play him for the shot as well as cover Trez on the roll. Dinwiddie is no outside threat but is danger to cut to the interior, so teams can play to clog the middle and cut off both Trez and Dinwiddie. If we keep 2 shooters on the floor with them it is less of an issue though. Just slightly more predictable. Still with those two and Beal a danger to attack down the middle, teams will collapse to stop them, and somebody is going to be open outside.

I can see Dinwiddie playing well with Bryant on the pick and pop, though he would need to be able to maintain his high % from 3 on increased volume. The Nugs P&R with Jokic & Mitchell is hard to guard when the big boy is hitting from outside. I can see Deni picking this skill set up since he showed a decent shot from three at the top of the key and the left side above the break. Kuzma too, as he gets stronger, either rolling to the basket or popping out for the shot.

Seems like Gafford could thrive next to a good P&R guard too if they get the reps to develop chemistry. Rui seems to learn from example, so watching Harrell may be exactly what he needs to get it.

I fully expect Wes to emphasize these skills, though with limited training camp and practice it might be slow, so whomever learns quickest will get the reps in this regard.

If Thomas Bryant is not ready to go at the start of camp I don't care how clunky it looks I would start both Daniel Gafford and mantras Will Ferrell...

I am incredibly slow when it comes to getting new glasses. :-)

Kuz,Trez,Bryant

With Gaff, Rui, Deni, and DavisB forming a tight second unit...

That is how I see the frontcourt rotation at the moment. Start the 2 oldest( not DB), the three former Lakers, and build up trade value; while maintaining a very competitive balance roster.

Keep chemistry good by investing in the more experienced and influential players. Hachimura and Deni Avidja need to clearly beat out and take starters minutes BUT MOST OF ALL it needs to be a supportive camp where players work with one another respectfully.

This morning I watched Cedric Maxwell in a podcast with Kevin McHale discussing their days with the Celtics. Rookie Kevin McHale was treated well even though he had to battle in practice with a very good player,

The Wizards need to make each other better.

Counter-intuitively (given that his mom is a professor) his parents supported him in that, though his extended family thought he was an idiot for passing on a guaranteed 6 figure salary coming our of Harvard to chase an unlikely NBA dream.

Anyway, here's a supercut of 40 minutes of pick and roll plays by SD26. Because it's summer and there is nothing going on.

The vibe I’m getting from him is that he is going to be even more effective than Antonio Daniels. His game reminds me a little bit of Rod Strickland’s.

I am already anticipating the guy will be a joy to watch. And yes, he is long and tall with DLTS said. Hass to be at least a legit six 4 1/2.

Trez might become the emergent leader of this team.

He seems most badass to me. Rui with his swag might become a real problem for opponents to deal with.

The players i most want to see paired with Harrell are shooters Bryant and Bertans; and big man facilitator Deni Axidja. I have a feeling that Ruby is going to enjoy passing to this guy as well. I also believe he can play alongside Gafford.

Montrezl is probably the most talented addition IF he can be utilized in a way that he’s neither a defensive liability nor a guy who clogs the lane.

I still do not understand how a voice to text editor will translate something correctly initially and then go back and try to artificially reason out the sentence and change words. I corrected that from not saying Ruby and it changed it. Danny DELIDELID. DENAIDEN I start

Very frustrating. 3:30 in the morning and I got ice cream ice cream I’ll I’ll I keep saying I as an eyeball stop

Yeah, his size is being sleeped on a bit. Physically, he's a lot like Aaron's brother - Jrue. If he puts more emphasis on defense, he could be one of the better defensive guards in the NBA. And he's certainly smart enough to do that. Now that he's got better offensive players around him and isn't expected to carry a big scoring load, he can emphasize his strengths and become a better all-around player. I'd love to see him improve his 3 point shooting, but he's probably never going to be a big plus there - another similarity to Jrue. :dontknow:

Hey, at least it's not saying eye scream. Speaking of which, wouldn't butter pecan be better with almond chunks... and chocolate ice cream? Ah, chocolate almond... but no paper-thin almond slivers... I want whole almonds or at least chunks. Hey Jerry and Ben, come over here.

It's kinda fun trying to puzzle out who the real people are behind the weird translator versions!
