GT #5: Bullets vs Hawks 7:00 PM [10/28/21]

Post#1 » by nate33 » Thu Oct 28, 2021 10:06 pm

Gotta get a game thread up.

Coming off a win last night, the Wizards are hosting the 3-1 Hawks.

Gafford, Bryant and Hachimura are out. Dinwiddie is also out, resting his recovering ACL. Trae Young, Huerter, and Bogdanovic are listed as "day-to-day".

Gonna be a tough one with half our team missing.

Missing Dinwiddie is going to hurt. Having him and Beal together in the backcourt forces Trae to guard someone.

Sheesh, we might need some volunteers. Who's our backup center - Avdija or Bertans?

We have no backup center and depending on how you view Neto and Holliday no PGs on the active roster. We arguably haven’t had a starting SF since day one since KCP is more of a standard 2 guard.

Still, despite the injuries/inactives I don’t absolutely hate the projected starting lineup tonight. It’s good to have some depth in DC finally.

Beal is gonna take at least 30 shots - I'm scared. :D It's 2 AM here, but I have the next few days off, so I can just relax and at least watch the first half live.

Capela might get 40 in the PNR against Trez.

KC3! Will need to shoot lights out because they are getting easy layups and dunks.

I say play Bertans when Capella is in there along with Harrell. Got to make them uncomfortable someway.

Quinton Mayo posted something that Beal had best defensive rating on team thus far, I don't believe it. He has looked like a rookie on defense.

I think it shows that we not only miss Dinwiddie on offense, but on D where Holiday is struggling to cover Young in the PNR and Beal has been switched over.

Why is Bertans handling the ball so much in the halfcourt offense?

Come on Deni. Another missed layup. Dunk that sh-t. You're 6-9.

Time to let Young try to beat you, these dimes he's getting are way to easy. Let him make some tough floaters, adjust if need be. I know he's good at them, but hell they have to be harder than what we are giving them at this point.

Well, according to this Mayo is wrong.

Decent start, Beal hasn't been forcing things so far and "everybody's eating". Hopefully they can get the W...

Bad shot there by Beal against Gallinari. Go to the basket. Don't settle.

Why is Beal whining about a foul there as it was a good foul? He was still yapping to Reddish about it as if he gives a crap.

He has never fouled a player in his life apparently.

Look at the shot distribution on the box score. Shows the open shot is being taken and no one is forcing

And that's why Beal didn't want that foul called. He just picked up his second. Can't afford to lose him due to foul trouble.
