YOUR Washington Bullets are 13-7 and suddenly on a 2-game winning streak!

Saturday night saw an offensive performance the likes of which we haven't seen much of this season! Beal had one of his best games so far, Gafford was everywhere, KCP and Kuz were doing their thing, and we had timely contributions from the bench in Neto, Kispert, and of course.. Trez.

Monday sees the road trip conclude with a visit to the Riverwalk in San Antonio (and all the big ol' women down there per Charles Barkley's many observations).

The Spurs have struggled in Coach Pop's 26th season as the Head Coach. Pop is 21 wins away from the wins record and the young Spurs have given away a number of games in the first quarter of the season to sit at 5-13. They are coming off a big win against the Celtics which saw Dejounte Murray go nuts to close the game.

Even with the Spurs sitting near the bottom of the Western Conference, another streak looms large over the Bullets. It's that the Bullets have NOT WON IN SAN ANTONIO SINCE THE 1999-2000 SEASON. The Bullets never have won at AT&T Center... that last win was at the Alamo Dome!

Last Bullets win in San Antonio, Mitch Richmond had 31 points, Rod Strickland had 7 assists, and Tracey Murray dropped 15 off the bench to give the Bullets a 10 point win over the defending NBA Champion Spurs. Look at the box score: https://www.landofbasketball.com/box_scores/1999/1211WASSAS.htm.

Will the Bullets finally break the streak?

Good grief! I wonder if that's the longest such active streak in the NBA?

I feel a Bert breakout coming. 5 points on 2-9 shooting with good effort on defense. Provides good spacing again, enabling his team to win this one 109-83.

SA's got a bunch of athletic wings - particularly Murray - coming off some big games recently - 28 assists vs 7 to's the last 3 games, and Keldon Johnson coming off a 17 points 14 rebounds game. White's been very inconsistent but is also very capable. Still not sure why they drafted Josh Primo so high. We'll have size advantages at the forwards with Kuz, Deni, and Bertans.

For some reason I remember Jahidi White being more instrumental in the ‘99 win than the box score suggests.

This has got to be the night, right?

In 1999, ER, Friends and Frazier were among the biggest hits on TV. The Matrix and Sixth Sense were in theaters. The top pop songs were Hit Me Baby One More Time, Living la Vida Loca, and Mambo Number 5. The Dot Com bubble was peaking with the Dow blowing through 10,000 all the way to 11,500 and the Nasdaq up 50% over the last 3 months. There was no Facebook, Twitter or even a RealGM. There was no 9-11. Nobody knew who the hell Osama bin Laden was.

I expect another big game from Brad and these are the types of games where Bertans should snap out of his funk. He should feel comfortable here and ready to prove his old team wrong. If not then it's soon time for deni and and kispert to take all of his minutes

I wish I could remember, because it would mean I'd remember Tim Duncan playing with The Admiral - both started that game. It was so long ago that Jaren Jackson Jr's father was their top reserve, and Steve Kerr was on their roster... as a player - and played 3 more years. https://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/199912110SAS.html

This is a trap game. The next 4 games are against .500 type teams - a step up from SA - Minnesota, Cleveland, Toronto, and Indiana - maybe I'm being generous calling Toronto and Indy .500 type teams? We need to win at least 3 of these 5 games to keep our momentum.

Indeed. I would say that winning >3 should be a great outcome, 3 a good outcome and <3 a disappointing outcome. Hoping Brad has recovered his mojo back and that Bertans will start hitting some 3s soon! I would say the latter is key as it would open the floor more for Brad and Spencer to drive to the basket.

He's going to have to provide a lot of discovery to prove his case...

Some ridiculous box back scores then.

To think that the Wizards took 7 threes for the game or that the Spurs only took 75 FGAs to the Wizards 82.

The lack of pace is truly astonishing.

Also, wtf is Michael Smith, I completely forgot this man was ever on the Wizards.

If I hadn't blow the money I had in my bwin account on the Wizards in their home loss against the Raptors I would have bet on the Mavericks on Saturday.

This ain't your #soWizards Wizzurds anymore, first San Antonio road win in 22 years coming up

Think I found about it him in 1998 - Kenya bombings were around the same time as the Lewinsky trials. Also my history teacher taught us about the Taliban/Osama in class in 1999 but only reason may have been because he was former military.

Greg Popovich was the coach through that whole time- so maybe he'll witness the start and end of that streak. Funny thing is that the Wizards beat the Spurs 4 times in a row at San Antonio after that win in 1999.

Jason Kidd who is the coach of the Mavericks was also a starter for the Mavs back in 2009 - so he was in the building to watch that streak win.

Maybe this team can end all the losing streaks in Texas (the last time the Wizards beat the Rockets was in 2016)
