GT #32: Bullets @ NY Knicks 7:30 PM (NBCSW/980 AM)

Post#1 » by FAH1223 » Thu Dec 23, 2021 3:43 am

YOUR Washington Bullets are 16-15, coming off a quality win in Utah, and suddenly haven't played in almost a week!

Will that win in Utah bode well or will we see more sucky bad basketball? Heading to the lottery fast?

KCP is in health and safety protocols. Jordan Schakel of the GO-GO has been signed. The sharp shooter has played well in the G-League and is deserving of a call-up. Will we see him out there?

Of note, Rui Hachimura is QUESTIONABLE for this game. I doubt he plays but he and Thomas Bryant are with the team in the Big Apple.

Meanwhile, the Knicks have been struggling to say the least. They are coming off a W over the Pistons. However they are going to be out multiple players for this Thursday night matchup. RJ Barrett, Nerlens Noel, Quentim Grimes, and Immanuel Quickley are in health and safety protocols. Derrick Rose is out 6-8 weeks after having ankle surgery. Coach Thibs will need to rely on a well-rested Kemba Walker and Evan Fournier to light up the Bullets and help Julius Randle carry the load.

I got the Knicks... but it is my birthday this gameday... so it'd be nice if the Bullets gave ya boy a gift.

Randle killed us last year when we played the Knicks. Rui did okay against him, but he just sonned all the other guys trying to guard him.

That would be a pretty big vote of no confidence in Bertans.

FWIW, ESPN lists Kispert as "day-to-day" with a quad injury.

Happy birthday!

I bet Kemba Walker scores 60 points... but the Wiz still manages to win!

Omicron is acting almost like an entirely different virus.

Recent boosters provide some protection from infection, maybe 50% for a couple of months.
Natural immunity 6-18 months old provides about 20% protection from infection.
Two doses of vaccine 2-3 months old has less than 10% protection.
Two doses of vaccine 3 months or older has negative effectiveness - literally worse than no vaccination at all.

It's Dinwiddie's time to shine. He's 6-6 with similar size to R.J. Barrett, who I assume will be there tonight. Unless he's injured, no excuse not to do what he did the first 12 games. It's his team now. He needs to step up in the next few games or just sit when Beal returns.

I would say same with Kispert, but he's apparently hurt.

So Barrett's playing and Brad isn't. Well, it's a test to see if anyone can pick up Brad's slack offensively. Defensively, we should be good - even with Neto defending the smallest guard. if Walker has a big game, we deserve to lose.

Except in relation to hospitalizations where the vaccines overwhelmingly do seem to prevent severe outcomes.

Deni playing good basketball all around. I'm really bullish on him being a good pro, he seems like he has what it take between the ears and with intensity.
