It will be interesting to see if they move him back to PG? Essentially over time he had been moved to a SF and that wasn't working out well for him. He is just one year removed from being a solid player - this year hasn't been good for Tomas.

Tomas has been a meh player hence him bouncing around, I am for using our draft pick on the best PG available if all things are equal with-respect to talent available.

I guess Pop played him last night to show the Wizards he’s not hurt. Spurs have guard depth. We only have Neto and Ish.

It’s nice to have a pure PG that’s above 6’2”

Nice! Sato has always been one of my favorite players. Easy guy to root for.

I suppose we don't think much of Winston and Joel

Sato ranks 519 out of 539 players in RPM. He's been equally bad on both sides of the ball. Looks a good tank commander candidate atm.

Nice move. You get a solid professional who can play three positions, will be unselfish and play D. Would rather go with a younger guy, but whatever.

Let’s be frank. He is not all that good anymore. Where he can help would be with spot minutes, give the opponent a different look (than Neto), and help with the development of the young pups. Still, I am glad he is back.

Seems like he left his three-point shot in Washington. At 30, not a lot of upside there and who knows if he'll be in the NBA next season.

In the two years Sato was in Chicago, he continued to post the same numbers he posted here: very efficient but ultra-low usage for a guard. If we get that guy, he can help us. His willingness to move the ball should fit in well with our diversified offensive system, and his size at guard will help us in our switch-everything defensive scheme.

But, you are right that Sato has been truly horrible in 32 games this season in New Orleans. It's possible that he just fell off a cliff due to age and injury, but there's at least a chance that the issue had to do with the Pelicans system, personnel and/or coaching. I'm glad we're giving him a shot.

Another smart player; can't hurt to have another guy who understands the game out there.
I still don't know what Unseld's plan is out there. And not sure what the team's long-term plan is.
But Sato is a smart stop-gap

How long ago was that 2nd round pick? And we're just now finally getting Satoransky?

We picked him, played him for 3 years. Traded him for two 2nd round picks and a TPE. And now we are getting Sato back.

I guess he really was "ultra-low usage"!

PS: I'm so low usage myself, I'll have to start using green font.

Yeah, I got the joke. I was just remarking on how Sato is the gift that keeps on giving.

Nothing to lose I guess. Sato and Porzingis are friends. I hope the Czech finds his shooting again…his percentages this season have been putrid…
