Sword played some nice defense when he got called up during the COVID-19 outbreak the league was weathering in December-January. I like him.

McCall is pretty inefficient and a chucker but Tillman is very interesting to me. He isn't a good three point shooter but he can make them and he's pretty efficient else where.

In addition to Kris Dunn, few interesting guard names in the roster, could it be that we hit on one of them as a reclamation project? or is this reserved for the likes of Miami Heat?

Devon Dotson. He had good numbers in 9 G-league games last season...bar a putrid 31% in 3 pt shooting. Otherwise, he had 20.1 pts, 7.1 rebs, 6.6 assists, 2.1 steals in 36. 9 minutes.

Grant Riller. Few of us liked him as a prospect in college but played very few games last year...

Pierria Henry. He has posted good numbers in Euroleague for a few seasons, particularly defensively (high steal numbers) as a 6'5" guard.

We got a pretty old summer league but I guess that's the aproche right? Build a farm system so we have guys who can fill in here and there and find some ready to go guys that might be good back ups while developing the young tallent we have.

Vernon Carey Jr. & Johnny Davis were born on the same day.

Hey Dat! What's the "loopy wingnut" spin on those 2 guys? In fact... better do the whole roster!! :)

I don’t see a PG coming out of this group for us.

Also Joakim Noah, Fred VanVleet, Kurt Rambis. But also Thon Maker and Jimmer Fredette.

Day of the Higher Cause. Manifesting physical presence in a dynamic way. Good: Success, talent, efficiency; Bad: dictatorial attitude and poor sense of direction. Association with danger, must be vigilant to avoid accidents.

So says the astrological loopy wingnut.

Seems weirdly unbalanced?

PG?: Kris Dunn; Devon Dotson; Davion Mintz;
SG?: Johnny Davis; Craig Sword; Grant Riller; Jordan Goodwin; Pierria Henry; Tahjere McCall; Tyler Hall
SF?: Semi Ojeleye; Jordan Schakel;
PF?: Isaiah Todd; Justin Tillman
C?: Vernon Carey; Chinanu Onuaku

Edit: Added Semi Ojeleye from PIF's post below. Seems more reasonable now.

Onoaku was the #37 pick in the 2017 draft. I liked him a little bit that year, but unless he's learned to shoot the 3 over there in Israel (which I doubt) he is not remotely an NBA player.

Devon Dotson was highly touted out of high school (#18 on RSCI 100 in 2018), went to Kansas, where he started as a Freshman & Sophomore. Obviously a very good young basketball player.

He came out after two years & went undrafted in 2020. My guess is that he will replace Winston as a 2way & play pg for the Gogos.

Let's get excited. Here he is scoring 34 points in a G League game:

Dotson and Dunn will probably vie for the last point guard spot or maybe backup if Ish doesn't return.

Am I crazy or could Dotson be a massive pickup for us?

Last year in the G-League regular season (25 games) per36: 22.6 points 5.0 rebounds 7.6 assists 2.2 turnovers 2.2 steals with a 1.7 net rating and a 56% TS.

In the G league showcase (9 games) per36: 19.5 points 6.6 rebounds 6.5 assists 3.8 turnovers 2.6 steals with a 54% TS.

His college numbers were really good and he’s still just 22 years old, about to turn 23. Seems like the only thing he doesn’t do well is shoot 3s, but the FT% has always been great.

Give me Dotson over Dunn. I’m excited to see this summer league backcourt.

Yea, those and Davis are about the only interesting things to me. Dotson is young so who knows, he could eventually improve into a decent NBA backup. He only played 11 games with the Bulls so really small sample size there. But if you are under 6-4 and don't shoot threes well or are not a ridiculous athlete, it's tough to get a look unless you are near the end of the roster.
