I know most will hate it, but we needed a 6-5 guard who can backup at point and play some two.

A backup point guard for the backup point guard. Where’s the starting point guard?

Yeah, they're definitely content being mediocre. This is an unnecessary sideways move.

Wow. I like Delon Wright. Quite an underrated player in my view. Very solid defensively and decent 3pt shooter.
Problem is we have a bloated roster…something has to give. Maybe Tommy pulls the rabbit out of the hat and completes a Rui+Kuz trade for Collins:
Morris/Wright
Beal/Davis
Kispert/Barton
Collins/Deni/Gill
Porzinga/Gafford

Both are serviceable starters, but neither are a long-term answer. A novel thought might have been to trade down and draft one in the later first round or second round and groom them. I do like that we're adding decent defenders other than Barton in Davis, Morris and Wright. I believe they will try and move Davis there because long-term he has to play 3 or 1.

Too many vets. Same problem as last year. Players want PT. Gill is content sitting on the bench. Others will not. Tommy needs to make a consolidation trade. I like the Wright signing.
Maybe its Kuz+Barton+Rui/Deni for Collins? That seems very light to me.

I think there's definitely another ball to drop

I love that our big off-season priority was getting a quality starting point guard and we’re rolling into next season with either Monte Morris or Delon Wright manning the helm.

Not a lot of options with Tyus Jones and Dipo (good) re-signing. They could really trade a million first-rounders to get Murray. Do they pull off a John Collins deal? They need a star or potential star. Bottom line is you are mediocre of you continue to draft mediocre players. Maybe Davis and Avdija become more than that. If not, Expect 3-4 years of his until they can trade Beal.

In isolation this is a very good move, less than I thought he would get.
If we can flip Kuz and Barton for Collins a good free agency period for us other than the Beal debacle. Sort of an “otherwise how did you enjoy the play mrs. Lincoln” performance by Tommy.

Agreed. Tommy making the same mistake with the roster construction twice would just be incompetence.
