I'm a fan of his game. He brings it on both sides of the floor; anti-tank commander.

Yes. Well deserved minutes. Good defensive player. Looks like a keeper!

I'm expecting Zards in this thread any minute to remind me of my statement that "Jordan Goodwin is irrelevant."

Re: Out of Nowhere: the Official Jordan Goodwin Thread
So poised. Makes smart plays all the time. Gets after it defensively and doesn’t drop his man. It’s funny — he’s not particularly tall or big, 6-3, but he’s kind of thick: 200 lbs. He looks bigger than Davis — or I’ll say: not smaller than Davis.
In any event: what a super performance. Let’s hope this is real — that he can continue to build on this. He’s the kind of player, if he continues like this — playing at both ends, filling the stat sheet, not turning it over — who wins you games.
This would be a huge HUGE win for T. Shep.

Nah…I’m not going to go there PIF. But I am gonna say that I’ve been kinda following Jordan as a Go Go and I’m not surprised by some of what he’s doing.
When I’ve looked at Goodwin’s #s in the G League his primary weakness was FT shooting but he looked pretty solid knocking down those FTs near the end of tonight’s game.
Here’s hoping Jordan continues to get PT…could be that diamond in the rough the Zards desperately need.

Hollinger fails to mention that Goodwin is 24 years old with 4 years of college exp. and one year of G League experience.
Johnny D. is 20 years old with two years of college exp.
That stuff matters...and Hollinger knows it.

Hollinger must have beef with this FO. He's written in the past about how delusional they are (we were in 1st place before the injuries took place, etc).

Made his name on a stat that takes into account half the game. Half the game.
Not a game, not a game, not a game. HALF the game. What are we talkin’ bout? HALF the game.

Fortunately, I did it for you!

It's always great to see someone succeed against odds the way he's doing. Such a positive thing!

I've just taken another look at his college numbers (at https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/jordan-goodwin-1.html).
Jordan was pretty highly rated coming out of high school -- #57 on RSCI top 100 list -- so... why'd he go to St. Louis, an A-10 school? The reason seems pretty obvious from his college numbers: he couldn't shoot a lick!
Over his 4 college seasons, his 2 pt. % was .472, his 3 pt. % was .271, & his FT% was .580. Plus, he didn't really get better from year to year. OTOH, the right side of his boxscore numbers was absolutely great!
With the GoGo last year, the story was more or less the same.

No need to over-react, IMO. All he says is that it's "quite a story." & he's right -- it is.

There were one or 2 of us who got intrigued after the last (or 2nd to last) preseason game in which
he made a couple of positive plays but since we're all Wizard's fans, any notion of optimism about JG
was summarily dismissed.

Re: Out of Nowhere: the Official Jordan Goodwin Thread
I'm sure I was among those doing the dismissing of Goodwin -- given my comment later that he was "irrelevant."
I remember the '21 Summer League, when he played well for us -- above all by being a ferocious rebounder for a guard (as he was in college as well: https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/jordan-goodwin-1.html).
It just didn't seem like he could shoot well enough to stick in the league.
Obviously, he's scoring great for us this year. We'll just have to see if he can keep it up.
Love Kispert's response....

Very exciting. Let’s hope that for once we hit on an undrafted prospect. I was at the arena with the kids last night and he clearly belongs.
