Theoretically, I kinda like the way the Wizards match up with Dallas. Dallas is highly reliant on Luka, and the Wiz have two guys with the strength and mobility to at least hold up against Luka in one-on-one coverage (Avdija and Hachimura).
That said, the fact remains, the Wizards aren't a good basketball team so it's tough to see how they pull off a win here.

Luka torches good defensive players on a regular basis (and I'm not sure
I'd agree that either Deni/Rui ought to be described that way).
I'd be shocked if we won.

Looks like a bunch of limp bizkits on that dude's head. Why would you do that.
Wiz going to have to let Luka get his 40 pts and try to stop the rest of the team. Lots of old friends on this team, too - Bert, Dinwiddie, and Javale. Wizards legends, tbh.
Rooting for a loss but I'm predicting a Wiz win - 136-104. Zingus revenge game - 37 points, 8 rebounds.

The Wizards have already won against Dallas and Luka last year, without Beal.
I guess never say never.
I hope to see a good game from the young guys. Also hopefully as less WTF moments as possible from Kuz, WUJ and co.

I'm just saying that Luka is a burly guy who bullies a lot of long, skinny defensive aces - guys like Mikal Bridges and Jaylen Brown. I think stronger, stouter guys do better against him, and the Wizards have two man defenders in that mold. (Rui is a lousy team defender, but he is pretty good on ball.)
I'm not suggesting they can shut him down or anything. But I think they might be able to hold him to a below average TS% without a lot of double team help.

I think Deni has a *chance* to do alright vs. Luka because a strength of Deni's defense is that he doesn't get fooled by fakes all that often. Luka outwits players more than powering through them or blowing by them with superior speed. That said if Deni defends him well on a possession or two, Luka will make it a mission to embarrass him the rest of the game.

Deni has a chance (at defending Luka) but both guys mentioned can be foul prone at times.
If things go very badly, might we get an IT sighting before garbage time?

Last year Deni handled well Luka as long as they didn't use screens to switch him on a different defender. If there is one aspect Deni has improved this year on the defensive end is he moves better through screens and keeps sticking to his attacker after a screen until KP/Gaff rim protecting. So I hope this time he will manage to stick to Luka a lot more, because Dallas use a lot of screens to free Luka off good defenders. I want to see how WUJ adjusting to this. Maybe using the tall switchable Kuz-Deni-Rui line up to cover the spaces Luka creates for others.
Win or loss, I really dislike the direction this organization goes. The Beal contract really blew any chance to build something healthy long term. When Ted thinks 'tanking' is a losing strategy, in other words what he's doing is he admits he doesn't have a clue how to build a winning team. Sometimes you need to rethink and refresh strategy to go to higher places. Only an idiot or something who doesn't care would claim that one strategy is the only way to succeed.

We'll probably get burned by the shooters they surround Luka with.

Must lose game. Indy, IMO, has already surpassed us. Mathurin is so good.

The length of Orlando bothered Luka all game which helped him to his worst game of the year.He was looking at Bol ,Bamba,Wagner and Carter all game in the middle where usually Luka bullies everyone. He bullied but there was length right behind that.
Hopefully the Wizards play big against Luka and the Mavs.
