Ugh,
No offense to Delon (who was fabulous when he played), but he might ruin the tank.

No worries on him killing the tank. He’ll take minutes from Goodwin, not Morris… a net neutral.
Now if wimpy WUJ grew a pair and rotated Goody and Delon, we’d be dangerous.

In Rizzo we trust

I agree. Delon will eat into Goodwin's minutes and they are essentially the same player this season.
Morris & Barton are team Wes and Wes won't bench his guys. I'm also fine with this for tanking purposes lol.

LOL
His presence has been an absolute disaster for the direction of this franchise.
The team is 8-20 without him, the 3rd worst record in the league and with the highest possible odds for Wemby. With him, they're 6-1.

Imagine we took Delon in 2015 draft..
Man Wall would have been spared some tread… and when he was an All NBA defender still that would have been something
Definitely would have made ECF in 2017

Delon is a monster. Tommy’s best free agent signing by a long mile.

Delon Wright is averaging 4.7 steals and 1.0 blocks per 36 minutes. Absolutely preposterous.

Agree - this guy is great. Everything Aaron Holiday was supposed to be, probably. As it was, Aaron Holiday was Delon Wright without the offense or the defense. So not great!
Can't say I do. Who else gonna shoot?

He has good defensive instincts on and off the ball.

I'll eat crow on this one. I thought he was just bench fodder but he's a solid citizen. He should be starting...he deserves it.

How come Tommy can find fellas like this and Goodwin but is literally worse at drafting than Dat after a night of fireball shots

I'm not gonna say Tommy is the entire problem here. I think this the staff. Tommy isn't the one doing up the draft reports and he's not really the one flying out to see these guys more than once. The scouts are. They need fired who ever has Tommy's ear about the draft needs to go. Sure ultimately it's Tommy's call but with better people around his he might not be so bad. I'm not defending him. I'm saying new .with the same scouting department may not be much better.AFM wrote:How come Tommy can find fellas like this and Goodwin but is literally worse at drafting than Dat after a night of fireball shots

yeah in the bob myers thread it was touched on that SF has significant investments in not just bob myers but the entire front office, as well as facilities, medical staff, etc.
a GM can only do but so much. if there's too many prospects, or even hours of footage for the scouting staff to get through, you can have the greatest scouts in the world and it wouldn't matter because they just simply aren't able to see enough.
that said though, it does get whittled down, you're able to piggy back off other people's research, and come draft time, you've had the benefit of the Tourney, the combine, all star games, interviews and private workouts. no excuse to whiff on lottery players. if armchair gm's like us can have a good grasp on first round prospects, so can they. you can't blame johnny davis on the lack of resources.
