Rui Hachimura was my POTG. Gafford, Kuz, Porzinga and Wright also deserve high praise.

A lot of players had nice games, but this award goes to Rui. An exceptionally efficient game. And he created most of his points on his own.

Rui was phenomenal, but I went with defense - Delon's effect on the game was so important, I went with him.

Rui without any doubt!

Probably the best game of his career so far!

You've described a Rui game like this at least half a dozen times. Pretty good for a guy constantly having his best game. :D

He's improving no?

Rui. Keep doing this and prove the doubters wrong. By doubters I mean: me.

This why I prefer rui to start,
Other than Beal he’s aggressive and take good shots
(No offense to Barton)
But 2-3 good one on one players make defensive schemes volatile

This was literally the first game that I can remember where Rui was aggressive for a half dozen plays in a game. I'd like to think that he can play like that all the time, but till he does, I wouldnt call him aggressive. Obviously, its within him to be so.

Rui's finally looking like a keeper. Still wish he could rebound though.

Why don't you make the argument that he's improving instead of me making it...? I.e. if that's what you think.

Look at his per 36 minute numbers for each of his seasons:
https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/h/hachiru01.html

Which season looks to you like it was his best overall?

For example, obviously he shot the 3-ball badly his rookie year, but he shot it great last year. OTOH, he got to the line more his rookie year -- & shot FTs better too. His rebounding was better his rookie year.

Then again, his rebounding this year is pretty much even with his rookie year. OTOH, his turnovers are up, but his steals are down. Still, his fouls are down too. But, then, his asssists are down. Yet, his blocks are up.

So, is this his best year? Or was it last year? Or maybe his rookie year? Which do you think it was? & why? Oh... & how actually "good" were any of them? Given that to understand how good a player is or isn't, we have to compare him to other guys....

Maybe the key question is: has he made a real jump since his rookie year? I mean a big-time leap? After all, Rui will turn 25 in 6 weeks. He's played almost 5000 NBA minutes. He's a veteran now.

I'd love to read your analysis of him.

My guy, what has got you so triggered? This wasn't a shot across the bough or an invitation for an argument. I made a light hearted observation. The kid is 24 years old. Hes not a veteran, and there's
no one that would describe him as such. Barely has 2 regular NBA seasons (that's 82 games) under his belt because of injuries and his hiatus. Relax and cheer him on.
