My wild, off the wall theory is that Beal asked for a trade, and Ted decided to blow it up completely.

I bet Tommy’s line was tapped by Ted, Ted heard him mention Bradley Beal in a trade scenario so he axed him.

In all honesty though, how can I or anyone even grade Tommy’s tenure? The few times he was allowed to get creative, I’d say he did a pretty good job, but you know the handcuffs were on. Now how would of he done with full autonomy? I don’t know. Might of sucked, might of done great. He had hits, he had misses. Shame we didn’t get to see him work. Hopefully the next person is someone that can swing their weight and tell Ted to let them do their job or I want nothing to do with you or your franchise.

Only matters if this signals an organizational change in approach. Which is theoreticaly possible, though Ted has shown no inclination to do so.

Wow. right. I bet it hinges on Rui and the loss of that Japan market.

Tommy will instantly get a job. He has too many friends in the game.

Just heard about 15 minutes ago and almost drove off the road. If Ted hires in-house again, than we're going backwards. Better get the wallet out and pay some $$$ because this not a very sought after job.

Teds reasoning is because we missed the playoffs…..Nah, he should’ve blew this whole thing up at Brad’s highest value and let Tommy start this thing over.

Give Myers full autonomy and whatever price he wants , let Wes Jr go and completely start over.

But this is Ted so JT3 gets promoted, demands Kuzma re-signed and we struggle for the play-in the next 3 years.

Rui, Rui, Rui Man!!!

Nope…this doesn’t pass the sniff test. Why would Leonsis fire someone who reportedly was doing what he was told to do? That narrative doesn’t make sense. I know people really want to believe Sheppard was “handcuffed” but i don’t buy that one bit. He simply didn’t get the job done and now he’s getting fired.

Why in heaven's name would they hire Connelly?

1. He made a complete mess of this year in Minnesota; the Gobert trade was in many ways even worse than the Beal signing, in that the Wolves gave up future assets.

2. He wants out from under the mess he himself created- no commitment at all.

Since they made a big point that they will be searching for someone from outside the organization, it seems clear that Ted realizes that the culture sucks. They'll want someone from a team with a winning tradition. Like Miami!!
