Swimming in backup point guards - need to move Wright for something, he is too good and will ruin the tank if he is healthy all year

I like Tyus Jones a lot. Averaged 15/4/8 as a starter. Maybe can be flipped again or kept

Ty Jones is a really good player. I'm not sure that's what the Wizards were after. Maybe they can flip him on, or at the deadline. If I'm not imagining things, IE, iirc, his advanced stats are very good.

How are the Celtics the ones getting the two 1st round picks out of this, it should be the Wiz.

How is this working financially? There has to be way more to this to make the numbers add up.

That all makes more sense than a Brogdan trade, tho

Pretty interesting that the Celtics traded Smart for KP

We take Jones, Gallinari, and Muscala. Also getting 35th overall tomorrow night.

I guess it’s better than 30+Marcus Morris, or maybe about the same.

Well, thanks for having me guys. I still think this board is mainly pretty high quality in terms of posting. And having passed through gives me another team to look out for, even if the roster is going to turn over completely in the next 12 months.:)

So long, and as they say, thanks for all the fish

That’s absolutely hilarious that Boston is turning Smart+35 into Porzingis+25 AND a 2024 1st.

Completely ridiculous.

Turd probably just wanted to save money. This deal certainly does as they save 12 million in the difference between KP and Jones+Muscala+Gallo. We still have to be getting some picks here. This trade makes no sense otherwise.

This is going to be one of the all-time worst rosters in NBA history. I know that rebuilds usually go this way, but COTDAMN how do you sell this shxt to the fans?

This is just bad. I had some hope with the new management, but this is an awful start IMO.

I don't care about the roster. I want to set the record for the least amount of wins in NBA history. We shouldn't go to any games. Screw Turd and don't give him money.

Have no issues with blowing the team up. Turd probably mandated to save money and he forced the FO to take this deal so they saved 12 million. We need to flip Tyus Jones now.

It’s hard to overstate how stupid this is. Porzingis literally wanted to re-sign here/opt in. We could’ve traded him down the line, or at the deadline for more than a 2nd round pick that you can basically purchase in any given draft.

It’s completely laughable. Gave away an all star caliber player for nothing essentially.

Just total desperation/rushed. Entire league is looking at them as an easy target. I’d be calling Winger and asking for #8 and offering up a used condom and a half eaten sandwich.

This is some clown ****

Porzingis wanted out. He wanted to go to Boston.

And he was reportedly going to opt out if he didn’t get the trade he wanted. He gave the Wizards a chance to get something for him.

He wanted out, sure. Because of the Beal exit. The domino that topples all the others.

I’m with you.

They could’ve said opt in, we want you here. And then taken bids at the trade deadline.

Instead, we get this. Panic and underselling.

Is the only path forward in a retooling to start with a fresh, clean slate? I don’t think so. I think that’s a pretty rigid way of thinking. The OKC way is not the only way to build a winner.

As soon as Brad was traded, KP said deuces.

I’m sure over the last week or two they’ve been upfront with Brad, KP that if they want to win, it isn’t happening here.

I wish we got another asset in return but Jones is a better player to get than Marcus Morris from that Clipper deal.

Even if KP wanted to resign I don’t think Winger & Co. were interested in signing him to an expensive, multi-year contract.

If KP opts out (as he was threatening to do) and the Zards choose not to resign him we effectively get nothing for him.

Instead, the Zards got a very good PG in Tyus Jones and the 35th pick.

Yes, would have been nice to get more picks but the Zards do now have a surplus of good PGs. I expect one or two of them to be traded for picks by tomorrow.
