Re: Game Thread 6-er: Washington Basketball Team @ Philly
Gafford can't handle Embiid. The sooner we go to Muscala, the better. He is stronger in post defense and can pull Embiid out onto the perimeter on offense. (That said, I don't think Muscala will do much to stop Embiid either.)
This is a game where Tyus Jones can prove his defensive mettle. Jones isn't very big so he struggles against bigger guard, but he is quick and can hopefully contain Maxey to some extent. At least we can hide Jordan Poole on Melton.

Another game where the only potential joy to be gleaned is our young guys playing well. We are 11.5 point dogs and even that feels mighty generous

Why the hell does WUJ keep taking Deni out when the starters are playing well together? He moves the ball, dees it up, is out there talking to his teammates, and WUJ keeps just taking him out mechanically.

Embiid so unlikeable. POS player who tries to injure players constantly then flops like a moron every time. Will enjoy watching him lose in the second round again this year.

Having to watch Gallinari out there is brutal. Chucker that does nothing else. Sure fire other team is going on a run when he enters the game.

How the hell was Johnny Davis such a good scorer in college? He looks like he can barely dribble the ball. Not to mention he barely looks at the rim when he gets the ball.

We have no real back-up power forward, and he moves the ball in that 2nd unit since Wright isn't much of a creator that way either. The real question is if Poole will be benched at some point. He gives away so many points at both ends.

I hope Kispert goes on a bit of a midseason bender to up his trade value. If you are going to be as bad as he is on defense and get no rebounds and no steals, you better be a lights out shooter and or get to the line. Kispert might do well on a really good team - one that can cover up for his defensive deficiencies and get him wide open looks in rhythm. But he sucks for us.

I'm enjoying watching your team right now! Corey Kimsbern has a bright future.

Yeah he has these games on defense where he looks like he might be the worst defender in the league. Bad rotations, always a step or two too slow, getting out positioned, and targeted every time down the court.

Good. Now that we've gotten the boring first three quarters out of the way, we can enjoy the Gleague exhibition.

Deni's shot doesn't look like a hot streak. It genuinely feels better

I honestly haven't disliked a player this much since Russell Westbrook, but at least you could never question RW's motor or effort. Poole OTOH...get him out of here. I don't think he barely breaks a sweat during games.
Him mentoring Coulabally is a joke..it should be the other way around.
