GT #43: Timberwolves @ Bullets 7 PM (MSN/980 AM)

Post#1 » by FAH1223 » Tue Jan 23, 2024 7:52 pm

YOUR Washington Bullets are 7-35!

Another game, another loss to the defending NBA champions occured on Sunday. Jokic dominated without even attempting a shot outside of the paint.

Next opponent? The current best in the West, Minnesota Timberwolves. They already have 30 wins and have the best defense in the NBA. The Gobert and Conley trades plus the emergence of Anthony Edwards makes them a formidable threat to reaching the Western Conference Finals for the first time since Kevin Garnett's MVP campaign in 2003-2004. 20 years ago. :o

The T-Wolves are coming off a loss to the Hornets. A game in which Karl Anthony-Towns scored 62 points on the same night Embiid dropped 70 on the Spurs... which was also the anniversary of Kobe Bryant's 81-point game in 2006. Chris Finch blasted his team as immature for the loss.

It was the first time since your Bullets won the NBA championship in 1978 that two players scored 60+ on the same night. :o

Another fun fact: Anthony Edwards has never beaten the Bullets. I think that changes.

Wizards streak against the T-Wolves probably ends - Beal played his best game of the season against the Timberwolves in the last one and the Wizards barely won.

We need Tyus to have a career night so Minnesota will trade for him.

They need him more than any team I can think of. It's not an exaggeration to say they desperately need someone like him.

Not sure what that trade would be after they gave up so many picks in the gobert deal .

They have a couple of SRP's including a pretty good one this summer (the worst of WAS/MEM). But another problem is that they don't have a filler contract. All of their bigger contracts belong to key rotation players. Is it really an upgrade to move Kyle Anderson out in order to obtain Tyus?

Knicks could also use him after trading IQ.

Poole is such a drag on the team. Bad decisions offensively and defensively. We need a new head coach to rein him in.

And to be frank, Kuzma is progressively behaving like Poole as of late, with sloppy play and silly turnovers galore..

Deni is such a smart player! What a contrast with our “two stars”…

I think its safe to say that for the past few games our bench lineup usually performs better than the oppoenent's..

Our turnovers are keeping the game close. We should be up double digits.

That might have been the best half I've seen from Deni.

I was just looking a D-LEBRON today, our two stars Kuzma and Poole are by far the worst defensive PF and SG, respectively in the league both by a comfortable margin. And Kuzma is complaining about personnel, look in the mirror homie...

Fun fact, Kispert is the worst SF in the league in that regard as well...

Tank commanders Poole and Kuz (at least he's rebounding and passing well tonight) hellbent on shooting us out of this one.

Someone should tell Wes he can call timeouts when he wants to talk to the players / coach them during the game.. its a nice feature proven historically to help teams play better.

Why does WUJ suddenly feel like this is a good time to use a zone defense?
