Gafford is going to look great in Dallas so I'm happy for him. Not happy to be losing him and I sincerely hope this draft compensation makes it worthwhile. Preparing myself to be disappointed.

Just curious, how is Gafford performing in comparison to the expected performance for, say, a mid to late first round pick?

As you get to the back side of the first round, aren't most picks busts or marginal players?

Gafford has a team friendly contract, plays hard, and isn't hurt all the time.

I just don't understand the compulsion to trade him.

Wouldn't make sense to trade him for anything less than a 1st.

Not really, Endless. PIF has made this point on here endlessly (sorry). Just look up who you believe the top 15 players in the league are, and look at where they were drafted.

We don’t need certain solid play right now, we need to take swings for difference makers. By the time we’re good again Gaff will be older and on his next contract
