Super Rocky Start
Got nothing for Beal
got nothing for porinzgus
might of overdrafted Bilal...they might of been able to trade back to get him
not trading up to get Cam Whitmore
trading an early 2nd rounder to Bulls
The shoplifted dude and the PBJ trade
Not trading Tyus for 4 2nd round picks
not trading kuz for multiple first rounders
Jordan Poole
Trey Jemison?
Unwatchable team who just lost to a G league team
anything else that i am missing?

Had no leverage with Beal's no-trade clause
Had no leverage given Porzingis' ability to opt out
Jury is out on Bilal. He is way too young to make any judgements.
Yeah, he missed that. But so did the next 12 teams. There's always a surprise that lots of GMs miss.
Jury is out.
The Paul for Poole trade was unquestionably bad.
That 4 SRP's rumor was debunked. It may have been two SRP's.
We don't know it was multiple firsts. It was presumably the PJ Washington package which was one 1st and Grant's contract. I'm okay with turning that down.
The Paul for Poole trade was unquestionably bad.
Two years from now, nobody will recall Trey Jemison.
Tanking is usually ugly.
So far, I'd say Winger/Dawkins screwed up big time on that Paul for Poole trade. Other than that, I don't really have any beef. I probably would have traded Tyus for the two SRP's if Orlando/Minnesota offered it.

Lots of understandable angst after a bad loss.
But they've sacrificed 65 games already this season. Do you want them to go on one of those patented Grunfeld late season runs and destroy their draft position now? They'd won 2 in a row. As bad as it sounds, they needed to get the tank back on track.
Looking ahead at the rest of the season, 10 of 17 games are against teams under .500 and 11 are at home. It's time to stay on mission- finish the tank!
BTW, despite it all, I like this group. I hope Bilal grows a pair; Poole eats a few shrooms; Jones, Kispert and Advija stay patient; Davis finds his mojo; Vukcevic comes over and gets an offensive rebound; Gill gets more than 1 min/game PT; and Kuzma continues to save the world.

On one hand this is super premature (that’s what she said) but on the other hand this is the wizards we’re talking about, and everyone deserves an Incredibly Sucky thread

They resigned Deni and Kuz to team friendly deals. Their open communication with Kuz and Jones prior to the deadline surely resonates with players.
We just beat a healthy Heat team in Miami when they are fighting to stay out of the play in.
Not buying this thread. I think we should lock it up.

Yeah, it's either: The Amazingly Sucky (insert here).
Or it's: (insert here) is suck.
Get the vernacular right man!

It's also "might have" not "might of". That's my number one pet peeve. Might have = might've = might of.

Davis seems like permanently damaged goods at this point. He's starting
to make the beginning of plays (now in his 3rd year(?), but he just can't
seem to finish them, especially shooting the ball.
What makes you think Poole needs shrooms to do what he does?

Pre-mature thread, but worth keeping around. The FO re-upped: Johnny Davis, Corey, & PBJ, and none are worth keeping, instead of a new crop of un-drafted/2nd rounders/and training camp pick-ups, we have to have this dead weight around for another season (but they can be trade-filler). The off-season where we ignored the front court, only to waste time and money on Taj Gibson was truly baffling. The draft picks are a big question mark (TBD). Not sure about Dumping Gafford for the unknown of what we can get at pick 25 this summer, we'll have to hit a home run with this pick.

Utah was going to trade up to get Bilal.
As far as Whitmore, he fell to 20.

I think he meant trading additional draft capital/assets to trade for Whitmore once he was falling.

This is a pretty silly thread, it seems to me.
1. We haven't had a "Super Rocky Start." Would you like to have had a "respectable" bad record? So that we'd have little or no shot at one of the top 3 picks?
2. Ryan Rollins, making $2m/ a year at 21 years of age, decides to shoplift repeatedly at Target... that's on Dawkins &/or Winger?
3. Why would you single out Cam Whitmore? Because he scores a lot of points by taking a lot of shots? Gee wow, amazing....
If we look at the draft in retrospect, I'd a h*ll of a lot rather have Podziemski, who went at 19, than Whitmore, who went at 20. For that matter, Jaime Jaquez (18) has also been a ton better than Whitmore. & each of those guys has played way more than twice as many minutes as Whitmore. For that matter, Trayce Jackson-Davis has played more minutes than Whitmore & been a zillion times better than him too.
Don't get me wrong -- Cam Whitmore may turn out to be a good player, & I hope he does. But, using his name indicates what a hollow point you're making with this thread.
& I agree that 9-51 ain't much fun. But, it's the result of making the correct decisions -- not of the new FO sucking.
We are paying for many decades of bad management. It'll take a while.
Edit: that said, I failed to understand why we traded the #35 pick to the Bulls.

While straight up those guys may have been better than Whitmore, the other things to consider would be age. Podz is 21, Jaime Jacques Jr. is 22, Trayce Jackson Davis is 24. Whitmore is 19. It will be interesting to revisit in a couple of years- buteither way would have been nice to get a another player in the 16-20 range.
Who do you think the Wizards should have taken at #35

On the other hand, there's one interesting thing Jay81 is helping to foreground:
it's kind of amazing how quickly one could turn a team around if every single draft day decision was an optimum one!
