He won't play this season probably so it's good for the tank. Ends up being a two year deal for twenty million but spread over three years.

He's rehabbing for the year, so his impact on the roster in the immediate is entirely related to his cap hold and roster size limits, not playing time. Beyond that I'm not sure I know the answer to the question "is Saddiq Bey good, actually" but if the answer is even kind of an upbeat maybe that's a good rate and another contract that will be easy to leverage later.

e: Also we were also already hoping Kuzma and, to a lesser extent, Kispert were going to be moved productively, so more reason to think that likely is also good.

Yep. For those not aware, he has a torn ACL. He's not taking anyone's minutes this year. More cap gymnastics, just like with JV.

Seems like a nice buy low move, solid rotation player when healthy, doesn’t break the bank. Can flip him for assets at the deadline next year.

I liked Saddiq better than the other Bey that year. If we didn’t take Haliburton or Vassel I wanted to trade down to get Saddiq and Isaiah Stewart.

Troy Weaver perhaps reads these boards for intel. Since he took them both.

I still like this Bey okay. Though Bey with even less athleticism is a questionable property. I agree he’s cap filler if we choose to trade Kuzma. He has shown flashes of ability. Hot streaks when Young was feeding him the ball.

The Hawks seem to burn through wing players though. Can’t find a guy they like. Hunter. Griffin. Bey…
