Cool we got another 1st which is what we wanted. Saw a funny take on another board:

The franchise has evolved into being the ACTUAL graveyard for teams who need to get rid of someone. You go to the Wiz with someone whose playing value is deceased and for a fee theyll take ownership of the body and their team of experts will do the embalming, burial preparations, and disposal.

I wanna see a name change to the Washington Undertakers. Lease the image rights from the WWF Undertaker and make that the mascot.

Make it HAPPEN, Michael Winger.

It's not a bad business to be in, Im just sayin... when teams have a player they cant use and nobody else will take... the Zards function as the funeral home. Theyre the experts in these sort of transactions. It's like their role in the NBA community. They have the experience in handling such matters and theyre who you go to.

"Hello, I have a player who's often injured, hes getting paid too much, and hes out of the rotation. We've called around to see if anyone wants him as a reclamation project, but no takers. We need to arrange for full morgue services."

Wiz: "Alright. We can do that. Here's a layout of the fee, the list of surcharges and optional extras..."

These are funny takes...with a lot of truth to them. Give us a FRP for your deceased player and it's a deal. Smart--no pun intended--rebuilding strategy.

The pick is top 14 protected, but it will most likely convey.

Man been trying to login to say I’m really happy and pleased with how Dawkins and co handled this trade deadline. We are stacking first rounders! And if only we were still the Bullets..could definitely be an Undertaker type name

More addition by subtraction. Johnny Davis was bad juju. A terrible memory of a forsaken era.

This is an amazing deal! A FRP in a the strong 2025 draft! It's a good pick and we don't have to wait 5 years for it to convey.

And Marcus Smart might actually be a good influence on the defense, albeit only in the games that he is healthy to play. I wouldn't be surprised if we buy him out this summer though.

I would be shocked if he played a game for us

It's too late to flip him. And his contract isn't expiring so he would be insane to take a buyout right now (he would lose out on the $21.5M he is owed next year). He will be on the roster for the remainder of the year so he will play.

I expect us to see if he can be moved this summer, which seems unlikely. At which point, we will probably arrange a buyout where we pay him 80-90% of his salary in exchange for him becoming a free agent and signing somewhere for the Room Exception.

This is an actual good trade for the Wizards. No complaints here.

The young bucks learning from Smart and Middleton instead of Kuzma. Yes please. They may even be able to get through to Poole! jk

Smart is the guy you always hated when you played against him.
But if he’s hurt and doesn’t play, you love him.

Great trade. Having an extra 2025 1st round pick is nice!

The Gizzards are indeed where careers go to die. They did Deni and Gaff a favor.

Wasn't able to post earlier because the board was effed up as usual during the trade deadline. This is why we have Dawkins/Winger. To gather multiple second-round picks and use them for a late first and get a contract that we might be able to deal again next season or the off-season.

Also not against getting guys to groom our younger players. We really didn't have that in Kuzma and Poole is young himself.

Just need to get lucky in the draft. After watching Harper again last night, I think he can be special. Bailey may take longer and we know that Flagg has incredible upside. After that, it's a coin flip even though there are some good players available. But I think we're heading in the right direction.

At this point, I’m not even sure the NBA knows which picks we have over the next few years. If I’m Winger, I just stroll to the podium when I damn well feel like it and make our picks… kind of like Dump and his executive orders.
