Bub looked okay until he went for an up fake on the game-winner for the other team.

Bilal kind of mailed it in defensively from what I saw. Sarr and his team couldn't really secure defensive rebounds.

Carrington looked alright.

Honestly, what is wrong with Chris Paul.

It was Wemby according to Draymond Green. Chris Paul needed to get that parental speech on "what would you do if Wemby drives off a cliff?"

I agree with O'Connor actually. And definitely don't agree with whatever Kuz is implying -- "our game" only "we" can speak about it lol dude you are a bum.

Doubt it. I bet CP3 hatched the plan and Wemby, student of the game that he is, asked everybody if this was legal or true. His first ASG so he didn't want to mess things up. CP3 just knows not to broadcast a plan beforehand, and in warm-ups was shooting the shot etc to look like he was taking it seriously. Throw people off.

Kuz is right that two-way players are actually NBA players. O'Connor should know that...assuming he's actually a NBA writer.

Wemby was the one who asked but maybe it was part of his master plan?

I did not watch the NBA games this year, but not sure I get the extreme criticism. It isn't like there is a great tradition of the NBA All-Star game being this absolute must see event. I think the dunk and 3 point contest have at least as much fan interest as the game. I do think the move away from the Conference format makes a lot of sense, in the 80s superstars generally stuck with teams, so the conference alignment made sense.

I do get the Kevin Hart overload criticism.

I did watch the NFL game and some of the events. They seem to be on the right track of making it fun and an opportunity to celebrate the stars. It might be a little easier to accomplish in the post season format of the NFL game, but basketball really makes more sense as an in-season event.

Baseball is the game that lends itself the most to the All-Star game format, because it is a lot more individual sport than football and even basketball.

I wonder what the ratings were going up against SNL 50th Anniversary.

Make it East vs West but the losers aren't eligible for a max extension on their next contract

Like that: 3 on 3 tournament. Allow Ice Cube's current Big 3 champions to earn a spot. Big pot for the winners, and a guaranteed shoe contract or branded merchandise rights for the spotlight. A portion of the jersey sales for the team winners.

These incentives would probably work better as a "best of the rest" player pool for guys who didn't make the all-star team. Or you can make it grouped college alumni. See if the UNC squad could beat the Duke squad. Sneaky good UVa squad with Ty Jerome, Trey Murphy III and Deandre Hunter. Guys would play harder, and the merchandising has a built-in audience.

See how the Villanova team stacks up against an all-Australia team or see how all-France fares against Big3.
