Re: NBA Games Discussion Thread - Part 6
Dillon Brooks is so unlikable. What a turd.
Some shenanigans on the court - Minny/Detroit and the Suns/Houston game. I like Stewart a lot. Seems like he was legitimately trying to hold back. Not at all like Brooks who apparently was trying to fight frail old man Durant and then a ref.

Ja Morant just did exactly what Arenas did:
Wonder how long he'll be suspended for. Unfortunately you can't fix stupid.
"The NBA is looking into Memphis' Ja Morant using finger gun motions toward the Golden State Warriors bench last night, sources tell me and @espn_macmahon."

IND drops 140 on CHA
UTA loses again (of course)
DAL vs LAC tonight. We want Dal to win to help MEM.

MEM hangs onto beat DET, moves back into 6th.
I expect they will end up in the play-in keeping
us nervous. Hopefully they'll finish 7th and have
two chances (if needed) at home to win one game.

Re: NBA Games Discussion Thread - Part 6
4 teams (GSW, MIN, LAC and MEM) with identical records (46-32) sitting in the 5-8 positions in the western conference.
None of these teams can drop to 9-10, which currently are occupied by SAC and DAL (both sitting with 38 wins).
This means that MEM is either going to make the playoffs outright or at worst, as the 7-8 seed with 2 chances to
win one game and any elimination game, if there is one, would be at home for MEM.
That scenario look pretty decent for us to keep MEM's FRP.
MEM still has games @CHA, MIN, @DEN and DAL.
The perfect scenario for us is for them to end up as the 8th seed after the play-in.
The worst case is for MEM to lose out in the play-in and keep their pick. All or nothing.
We're sitting 2 wins less than CHA with 4 games left (against @IND, PHL, @CHI and @MIA).
Even if we win the PHL game, if we lose the other 3 we will finish lower than CHA.
MIA is currently 10th 1 game behind CHI and 2 behind ATL. They should be motivated to
win. PHL's FRP is top 6 protected. They are not motivated to win and are injured AF.
CHI is also motivated to win so they can play at home as the 9th seed or move into 8th.
IND is solidly in 4th. Most likely we lose 3 more games.

There's something always happening in the NBA every night but if you turn on First Take/ESPN, it's just Lakers talk. Not really sure how we got here but my hope is NBC/Amazon can step in and improve the coverage.

Pulling for Memphis to land at the 6 seed. Not sure my caffeine and doritos fueled biological systems can take the shock of losing out on the lottery (expected) and the Memphis pick (also, tbh, expected).

Why on earth did the NBA schedule 2 games to be completed after the start of the NCAA final game?

Not sure about that. I think one of the reasons he was let go is because he favored playing vets over young guys.

records in 4-7 place. MIN 1game behind, LAL
1 game ahead.

Luka crying watching his tribute video in Dallas. I gotta hand it to Nico, I thought EG was the worst GM of all time, but he never did anything this stupid.

UTA @home going into OT vs POR.
Very interesting.
Edit - UTA wins. My understanding is that this means
the top spot in the draft lottery will be determined
by a coin flip, assuming WAS and UTA finish the season
with identical W-L records.
