The New Orleans Pelicans are trading CJ McCollum, Kelly Olynyk and a future second-round pick to the Washington Wizards for Jordan Poole, Saddiq Bey and the No. 40 pick, sources tell ESPN.

I get it now with the cap. Just was hoping for a current pick for Poole.

I don't get the move, at the same time I love the cap space. Idk.

I assume this puts us in a better position to absorb a PG13 or Beal-sized salary -- and the draft capital that would presumably come with it.

If McCollum's deal is smaller/shorter than Poole's and assuming he'll be much more of a professional, it's a plus for us IMO.

Ugh. Say what you will, Poole was the funnest thing to watch last year. He's still only 26 years old and improved almost across the board last year. I guess it helps keep us in the bottom eight next year and save that First rounder...

Do people think we keep McCollum? I feel like he gets moved.

Maybe we're targetting Fears or trading up for Harper.

Going to miss Poole and his stinky splash celebration. Little did Poole know how fitting this was for a Wizards player.

100%. He'll be 34 in September but he can still help a team, maybe off the bench. About a 40% career three-point shooter. Give him 25mpg intead of 33 or so and he'll be productive. Of course, they thought they could do the same with Brogdon.

Honest question, do we retire Poole's number? KUZMA and POOLE both hanging from the rafters.

Ace Bailey is licking his chops at his projected usage rate.

Nah bro, with Smart/McCollum/Middleton starting on the perimeter we're an absolute shoe-in for the 2019 playoffs. :D

You think he comes off the bench? He just scored 21 a game last year...I'd rather buy him out and let the young guys get burn.

So it is time to spend next summer on legit free agents? Will they come here? I guess we'll have plenty of money to spend for the first time in a while.

Saves them 34 million in 26/27.

Seems like they are in a better position to take on that PG contract now.

Funny to look back on the posts recently that Poole was worth a first round pick.
