Official Jamir Watkins thread
I didn't know where to post this, so I decided to make a new thread for the 43rd pick in the 2025 NBA Draft:
This makes sense. There just isn't room on the roster for him.

Re: Official Jamir Watkins thread
I like him! I wanted him in last years draft (as a 2nd rounder).
I think he’s going to be good. Excellent athlete, long wingspan, plays hard, good defender, can score/shoot, handle & pass. Has wing & pg skills, versatile & can posterize dunk on you. Can he get PT?
I’m excited to see him in SL.

Thats good. I think the name should match his playstyle of a sleek, athletic, and aggressive player. I.e. "Jammer" Watkins or "Jaguar" Jamir

Insane defensive metrics. They have to develop him, if those numbers are the least bit transferrable to regular NBA play.

Yep. Might be one of the steals (hehehe) of the draft!

Re: Official Jamir Watkins thread
Really liked this pick. I think he will turn out to be a very good defensive player. If he can develop a respectable shot to the point where he is a reliable 4th or 5th scoring option, then this will definitely be a "find" and a "steal" in the draft. Cant wait to see his development.

Terrific kid.
Once Branham falls through the first crack in the sidewalk, Jamir will be on the regular roster!

He is 6'-5" 215 pounds with a 6'-11.25" wingspan. He's basically the exact same size as Jaylen Brown and Jaylen can guard 1 through 4.

He's our Lu Dort in training. Defensively he's got the physical tools & instincts to be an excellent defender but can he do enough offensively to stay on the floor?

Well his ability to get to the line seemed to roll over into SL.....
So with improved shooting I think he could be a bit better than Dort currently is because his advantages with the ball in his hands off the dribble....

Re: Official Jamir Watkins thread
In his last summer league game, Watkins made his first 2 3s and then missed 7 in a row. Then he shot it early in the shot clock in closing minute of the game to ice the game.
