Interesting...
he didn't play that bad his first go round with us. He and Whitmore will be like our low post options...

Does this mean a total goodbye to Richuan Holmes?

The first move of the Wizards off-season that has me scratching my head. Is it just to save on the Holmes contract?

Shocking! I thought Sarr was going to be forced to play 40 minutes at the 5 with Vukcevic, Bilal and Whitmore playing the other 8 minutes.

I assume it's for the vet minimum. That's a good deal. Bagley is a journeyman, but still good enough to belong in an NBA rotation.

I'm curious if this means Holmes is gone. If we had to choose between the two, I think I'd lean toward Holmes, who, at his age, would understand that his role is just to help facilitate the development of the young guys. Bagley probably still wants to try and prove himself.

It's hard to believe Bagley is only 26.

It's rather disappointing that this is the big move after jumping through hoops to dump Olynyk's deal and generate a TPE.

He seemed positive when he was here; comments from guys like Sarr and Vucevic about him being a positive mentor. I hope it works out for him.

Bags is not as good as Holmes in the areas that we need the most help. Honestly, that might be part of the plan.

We shooting for the record of most guys on the roster at one time? How many more can we fit in this clown car?
Can't say I do. Who else gonna shoot?

When Bagley was here last time, he posted 20 points, 12 boards, 1 block and 1 steal per 36 on a .620 TS% with a +4.4 on/off differential in 740 total minutes of action. There's nothing wrong with that!

Bagley is fine but he is too small to play center on a good team, and he isn't skilled enough to play the 4.

Time to let Tristan sink or swim.

So questions.

Don't we still have too many players? And this adds one more?

We must be waiving Holmes?

Can we still add Tristan as a non two-way player?

Yes. We have 3 too many players. 3 guys will need to be cut or traded. For now, I'm assuming it'll be the two San Antonio guys plus Holmes, but maybe they'll buy out Smart.

I don't see us adding Tristan as a non 2-way player. Why would we? He just agreed to a 2-way deal which keeps him on the roster without using a roster spot, and we retain his RFA rights.

Did not know that

Holmes for sure... the others are "interesting".

Yes.

Give me Bagley over Cushion Vukcevic everyday!!

Bagley is essentially the same player as that guy in terms of offensive lift off the bench. Both can get you as many points as minutes played.

Difference is that Bagley isn't soft as hell, will scrap for a damn rebound, and win, lose, or, draw, will try to defend his guy through honest effort.

Welcome back Bagley!

And Bub and Kyshawn as well. Talking about how he encouraged them all summer. Gave them Veteran tips.

Welcome back Bagley!

Bagley is 26 and has played ~300 NBA games. He is what he is at this point.

Vuk is 21 and has played ~50 games. No reason why he shouldn't be getting the backup center minutes over Bagley.
