We've signed this kid to a 2-way deal. Anyone know anything much about him?

Here are his college numbers:

Yes man. He’s the player who made Queens defense bearable at Maryland. Dirty work player, rebounding fiend. You’ll love him. His per 36 in the G league is like 17pts 16 boards.

We can’t afford any more good two way players. They keep accidentally ruining the tank.

I'm usually cautious/paranoid but our remaining
schedule may only have 5 more wins. So I'm
optimistic.

UTA play twice
Pels 1x
CHI 2x but they are 8 wins ahead of us.

Unless AD starts playing and TY too.

Love the signing!

J. Reese was one of many players that I hoped we drafted late.

Love this kid! He's a tough grindy kind of guy, tough and rebounds he's 6'9 230 this kid reminds me of the two really solid years khris humphries had in Brooklyn, if he ends up being that guy longer than his humphries did then he's a good find.

Shades of LaSooz, tbh. But fine with it. We've already signed all the 6'5" hustle 3/D wings out there.

Love bringing in JuJu. He’s a good kid.

Played pickup him with him on campus at UMD a few years ago.

My assessment was different watching the tournament. Actually think his defense was a bit slow on rotation and misaligned himself on a few possessions. I believe Queen even had more blocks than Reese in the tournament per game,.

But I think the regular season stats look promising, granted the overall competition may have been slightly worse but the sample size is much larger. Plus a good chance he has improved since he's been in the g league

DQ had olé defense at UMD as well. That was the knock on him, that for all his steals or rebounding and solid size he never really liked putting a body on an opponent. Reese never had that problem. Plays hard even if undersized and seeks out contact in the scrum. His solid work freed up DQ to freelance.

Rewatching some of the highlights from the Maryland/Florida game. I forgot that the game was that close in the first half despite Florida controlling the possession battle for the game. I guess there was some Kevin Willard backlash that overshadowed the game. Maryland had 20 rebounds for the game, while Florida had 42. Let’s see if Reese can do, but at the same time not hoping too much because of the tank.

I honestly think he could stick. We can use some big man depth, I could see him on a 2-way next season for sure.

It'll be fun to see him matched up against Queen when we play the Pelicans.
